Minecraft Creator Markus “Notch” Persson ranks #2 in TIME 100 poll

Markus "Notch" Persson, the creator of Minecraft, has claimed the #2 position in Time Magazine's "2013 Time 100 Poll". The ranking is based on how influential a person is, making Notch the 2nd most influential person in the world. He garnered 156,694 votes from Time Magazine voters, falling short about 16.5 thousand votes below Mohamed Morsi, the president of Egypt. Notch did, however, manage to beat out Kim Dotcom for 2nd place by nearly 40,000 votes.

Time Inc finally joins iPad digital magazines

After being one of the strongest holdouts for not offerings its publications exclusively through the iPad, Time Inc has caved. The company, which publishes some of the most popular print publications like People, Sports Illustrated, Entertainment Weekly, and more, has announced that it will begin offering digital subscriptions through Apple's Newsstand platform.

Time Bringing All 21 Magazines To iPad

iPad users will now have more access to traditional magazines than ever before. Today, Time Inc. announced plans to bring its entire publishing portfolio of 21 magazines to the iPad before the end of 2011. The company already offers digital versions for four of its biggest magazines, including Sports Illustrated, Time, Fortune, and People, which will now be joined by other popular titles such as Entertainment Weekly, In Style, and Real Simple.

Time Warner Cable mobile WiMAX on the way

Time Warner Cable announced today that they are still on track for bringing mobile WiMAX to the masses very soon.

The CEO of the company, Glenn Britt, noted that more details would be released in the near future, but the fall was shaping up to be the time for release for this mobile network.

The first cities lined up to receive mobile WiMAX will be Dallas and Charlotte. This new move is intended to appeal to current customers that are moving away from VoIP services and toward wireless-only lifestyles....
