We’ve talked about Thrustmaster before, and while it certainly has been awhile, the company made an appearance at CES this year with a new toy that a lot of racing enthusiasts would love. It’s called the VRX iMotion racing simulator, and it’s an all-out simulator that includes full controls and three massive displays.

Upon first glance, this beast of a racing simulator is decked out in carbon fiber, stainless steel, and aircraft-grade aluminum. And not only does it provide a massive screen made out of three huge monitors, the VRX iMotion also has force feedback in the steering wheel and the racing seat itself, providing an even more immersive experience.

The sim is finished in layers of 3M DI-NOC carbon fiber, and it comes with high-quality, lockable castors that make it relatively easy to set up, take down, and transport. As far as the motion system and force feedback is concerned, there’s four actuators that are capable of producing 2Gs of acceleration with help with the rest of the D-BOX motion system.

Are you ready for a price? One of these puppies starts at $35,000. Of course, we’re not really surprised by that — it is indeed an incredible system, and we would never expect one of these to sell at a level where regular consumers could get their hands one on, but we have to say to we’re impressed, and we can tell that Thrustmaster didn’t miss any details.

Thrustmaster has been pushing Ferrari-themed peripherals for gamers for a while now, but the company’s latest F1 wheel is the most convincing yet. A full-size replica of the Formula 1 Ferrari 2011 racing wheel designed to work with the company’s T500 RS system, the eye-catching accessory includes brushed-metal paddle shifters, all the rotary knobs and buttons from the authentic car, and an easy swap system for switching between it and the original GT wheel.

In fact, there are two rotary encoder knobs, for mid-race settings tweaks, eight dual-detent buttons, three tri-position switches with wheel re-centering and two 8-directional D-pads, set in a reinforced metal face-plate. The wheel itself is clad in textured rubber.

Two modes are supported, either the “normal” setup that works with PS3 and PC and activates 13 of the buttons and the three D-pads, or the “advanced” setup that enables all of the controls but is only compatible with PC titles. Impressive stuff, but it comes as a price: $199.99 for the wheel alone, when it drops sometime in October, with the T500 RS system having a $599.99 MRSP itself.

Racing wheels are fantastic for racing games like Gran Turismo and others on the PS3 and there are a bunch of different wheels on the market. Some of the high-end wheels include a pedal assembly with a clutch so you can get that extra realism by banging through the gears if you want. Thrustmaster launched its cool T500 RS racing wheel a while back for the PS3 console and it was great except it had no shifter.

The new TH8 RS is the gated shifter that is designed to go with that T500 RS racing wheel. It connects to the computer via USB and has two modes. It can be used as a gated shifter with seven forwards gears and one reverse gear. The shifter can also be converted for use as a sequential shifter with a plus and minus position for sequential shifting.

The stick is 5.12″ tall and the knob on top can be replaced with any universal shift knob for a real vehicle. The angle and position of the shift plate can be adjusted and the shifter has a clamp mechanism for holding it tightly onto the desk or table. The clamp works with surfaces 1 to 5mm thick. The TH8 RS isn’t cheap; it will sell for $179.99 when it ships in October.

Thrustmaster has been in the gaming peripheral market for many years and has made some of the best flight simulation controllers around. The company has just released its latest flight sim controller system and has really (really, really) outdone itself this time around. The controller system includes a joystick and a separate throttle and is called the HOTAS Warthog.

It takes its name from that beastly fighter jet known as the A-10 Warthog with the multiple barrel cannon o’ death the aircraft is actually built around. The joystick and throttle are exact replicas of the one that is found inside the A-10C and sport 55 programmable buttons. The dual throttle has a bunch of toggles that can be programmed for game functions. The throttle has multiple detents and uses a push pull system with magnetic resistance for accuracy and realism. The throttle itself has 17 different action buttons including a POV hat control.

The joystick has 19 buttons and its own POV hat control. The controller has magnetic sensor system for ultimate precision and has buttons with the same pressure required to activate them as the buttons in a real aircraft. The joystick handle is detachable and can be used on the lesser HOTAS Cougar controller system. The base can be removed allowing the thing to be installed in a cockpit. The only downside here is that the Warthog system sells for $499.99. It will be available this month.

Do you like video games? More importantly, do you really, really like racing games? How about paying an exorbitant amount of money for a racing game accessory? Sure, it’s a racing wheel, and those can be pretty important depending on the racing game, but there’s probably a point where paying the same cost you’d spend, for say, the console may be too much.

Then again, that’s the price you pay (no pun intended) for getting the Ferrari brand name tied to your video game accessory, right? In the case of the Thrustmaster Ferrari Wireless GT Cockpit 430 Scuderia Edition Controller, that’s exactly what you’re getting. A ridiculously famous name brand, plus other features that may be enough to sway the fence-sitting consumer. For example, you get two metal pedals, the ability to run the accessory on 4 AA batteries for upwards of 50 hours, and a latency-free 2.4GHz wireless system.

It also has a rigid, metal adjustable frame. Basically, you can reposition the steering wheel to fit your needs, depending what you’re sitting on, how tall you are (or short), all to make sure that you’re comfortable while playing for long periods of time. You can also detach the wheel, if you want. We couldn’t think of why anyone would want to do that, but in the video, you’ll realize why you’d want to show the wheel off. There are gearshift levers, and a “genuine” Manettino dial with 5 backlit positions, which means you can configure your wheel on the fly, while in the game.

That’s a lot of features, no doubt about it. As for the price, that’ll run you a cool $250. You can also only get the wheel for your PC or PlayStation 3. So all you Xbox 360 owners out there, you’re out of luck. Anyone out there aching to get their hands on this guy?

I have been a big fan of racing games for years on the PC and the PS3. It’s so much more fun to play this sort of game with a racing wheel than a track pad. The problem for me is always trying to find a palace to mount my Logitech racing wheel. It isn’t comfortable use in my lap and the coffee table is just too short.

Thrustmaster has unveiled a new Ferrari branded racing cockpit that is perfect for the living room racing fan to go with its Ferrari branded game pads. The device is called the Ferrari Wireless GT Cockpit 430 Scuderia Edition. The racing wheel is mounted to an articulating platform that is adjustable for angle and more. The wheel is wireless with a range of 10 meters.

The base of the cockpit is weighted to keep it in place and has a gas and a brake pedal. Alas, the cockpit lacks the clutch and shifter we commonly find on racing wheels today. The wheel is a replica of the one used in the Ferrari 430 Scuderia compete with the Manettino dial and more. The other downside here is that there is no force feedback. The cockpit will ship in June for $249.99.

Thrustmaster is really big in the accessory and controller world for the Wii and other game consoles. The last time we talked about Thrustmaster products it was a new accessory kit for the Wii Fit. Thrustmaster has unveiled a new line of Wii remote charging stands to keep that remotes ready to play at all times.

The T-Charge Stand Contactless + NW is a new contactless charging solution that will charge two Wii remotes and holds the Wii console as well. The only issue I see is that the charging station makes the Wii much fatter and it may be hard to fit the thing in a small space. The charger will recharge your Wii remotes without you having to take the silicone cases off the remotes. The charging station sells for $39.99.

The other charging station is the T-Charge Quattro+ NW and it is a charging solution designed to power up to four Wii remotes at once. The Quattro+ NW is a long and thin charging station so it takes up little space. It gets power from the USB port of the Wii. Thrustmaster is selling the Quattro+ NW charging station for $34.99.

I love the sound and style of Ferrari automobiles, but considering that the exotic Italian autos cost more than my home I will never own one. Assuming I don’t hit the lottery anyway. As close as we mere mortals will likely come to a Ferrari is a Hot Wheels car or these cool new controllers from Thrustmaster.

The wireless pads include the Ferrari Wireless Gamepad 430 Scuderia and the F1 Wireless Gamepad Ferrari F60.

The Thrustmaster T-Wireless NW gamepad isn’t going to use Nintendo’s wireless signal, so you’re going to have to plug in a dongle to make it work. That’s better than plugging the controller into the Wiimote. You’ll be able to use your new controller from up to 30 feet away.

The controller supports vibration feedback, so you’ll get that nice rumble feeling that you know and love. The controller is priced at $19.99 and will be available in October.
