Apple released its iTunes Best of 2012 list today, while Facebook rolled out a native app for Android, which can boast speeds that are twice as fast. Google has brought double tap functionality to its mobile ads, meaning that you no longer have to worry about accidentally clicking an ad, and a US court has found that the iPhone infringes on three MobileMedia patents, with those patents revealed later in the day. When we mentioned the deal yesterday, it had already reached over $220,000 in sales. Now, after 24 hours, the bundle has received over $2.2 million in sales from more than 400,000 people. THQ stock climbs nearly 40% after release of Humble Bundle

Earlier in the day, we told you about the latest Humble Bundle. This Humble Bundle is more or less the same as past bundles in that players get to name their own price for it, but there's one key difference: instead of bundling together a bunch of indie titles, this latest one is a collection of THQ's biggest games. Microsoft announced today that we'll be able snag a Surface Pro starting in January, with the 64GB model demanding $899 and the 128GB model going for $999. Apple launched iTunes 11 today, complete with a brand new user interface and iCloud at every turn, so get those updates going. It's arguably one of the best business models there is, and taking a donations approach instead of a fixed price opens the gates for greater revenue. THQ clears up Wii U “horrible, slow CPU” claim

A couple days ago, 4A Games developer Oles Shishkovtsov had some fighting words for Nintendo's new Wii U gaming console. He simply said that the new console has a "horrible, slow CPU." He was pretty straightforward in his comment obviously, but THQ's Huw Beynon -- who works full time as a representative of 4A Games -- says that Shishkovtsov's comment didn't tell the full story necessarily. NPD: Darksiders II sold 247k copies in August, takes top software spot

NPD has released its sales statistics for the US video game market in August, and Darksiders II has taken the software crown. That's in a month where every category tumbled year-over-year, with total software sales falling by a significant 20% to $515.6 million. The decline in software sales didn't sting as much, with that number only dropping 11% year-over-year before resting at $252.8 million for the month. Read The Full Story

South Park: The Game delayed until 2013

Bad luck if you you were hoping to get South Park: The Game for Christmas, as the anticipated title becomes the latest in a string of high-profile games to be delayed into 2013. THQ buried the news in its fiscal 2012 financial results, pushing the release date back from the second half of 2012, as original intended, to last quarter of the 2013 financial year, which means sometime between January 1 and March 31 2013. THQ announces layoffs, reduces Warhammer ambitions

Video game publisher THQ announced today that is has decided to hand pink slips to 118 of its employees across two studios. In the same breath, the company said its upcoming new entry in the Warhammer 40K series, one of its most profitable, will not be a massively multiplayer online game as it originally promised.
