Lenovo ThinkPad X100e brings AMD CULV to enterprise

Lenovo's ThinkPad X100e has broken cover, and while the company describes the 11.6-inch machine as their entry-level ultraportable, we'd be more inclined to pit it against CULV notebooks.  Whichever segment you assign it to, though, the X100e makes for an interesting machine: based on AMD's Athlon Neo single- and dual-core CPUs, together with Turion dual-cores, the notebook manages to fit in a full-sized keyboard.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge gets official: optional 3G and WiMAX

Lenovo's CES 2010 range has been revealed, and heading the attack is the new Lenovo ThinkPad Edge.  A new series of 13, 14 and 15 inch machines, the Edge line-up is targeted at home buyers together with small and medium business users.  First up will be the 13.3-inch Edge using AMD's Turion and Athlon Neo dual core processors, but Intel CULV Core 2 Duo and regular Core 2 Duo CPUs will also be on offer across the range.  There's also optional Bluetooth, WiMAX and 3G to go along with the standard WiFi.

Talk about Lenovo's supposed first ThinkPad netbook is getting even more intriguing, with details of not one but two upcoming ultraportables in the company's flagship range.  First up is the Lenovo ThinkPad X100e, a machine that has been tipped as a netbook but which Lenovo is apparently pushing as an extension of their X-Series premium ultraportables.  It will have an 11.6-inch display and use AMD's Athlon MV-40 processors and RS780 chipset.  Meanwhile, the second mystery machine is the Lenovo ThinkPad Edge, targeting small businesses who might want a 13.3-inch notebook in-between current IdeaPad and ThinkPad offerings.

The first image and set of rumored specs for the ThinkPad T400s was leaked a few days ago. While Lenovo is still mum about the release date, price or specs come these two videos of the T400s. The first video demonstrates just how well built and tough this thing is. No worries, I won’t spoil the ending for you – just make sure to click on over to watch it get run over by a 26,000 pound DOW truck. The second video shows the T400s getting physically abused by the “tornado chasing” team members. It’s a crime treating such a great laptop this way!
