Verizon iPhone TeleNav GPS App Available Now

Popular and ever-expanding GPS location and mapping service TeleNav is newly available today on Verizon's iPhone 4. TeleNav is now a free app in the Apple App Store - this app will only be activated for download following the expected launch of Verizon's iPhone 4 on February 10. Users who download this app will receive free maps and local search in addition to free access to advanced navigation features like spoken turn-by-turn directions and fabulous 3D moving maps. This update of TeleNav for your handheld devices has several key upgrades: Multiple Route Suggestions, now with up to three different possible routes overlaid on the map with details included (distance, time.) TeleNav teams up with QNX

Today TeleNav Inc. announced their partnership with QNX Software Systems. Their plan is to integrate connected GPS navigation to sync with the QNX car application platform. TeleNav GPS Navigator for T-Mobile myTouch 3G arrives August 5th

AT&T Navigator for iPhone released: functional but expensive

AT&T have released the iPhone version of their Navigator PND program through the App Store [iTunes link], offering turn-by-turn directions on the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.  The Telenav-developed app supports both verbal and on-screen guidance, speech recognition, traffic alerts and full 3D mapping. TeleNav have announced the first turn-by-turn GPS app for Android and the T-Mobile G1, complete with full color 3D graphics, speech recognition, one-click route recalculation and traffic alerts, together with weather updates, gas prices and restaurant reviews.  Over at Android Community they’ve already been playing with TeleNav, and have their full review up complete with a video demo of the navigation app in action.

Samsung Behold hands-on review

T-Mobile has just sent us what we now believe to be one of the best phones that they have to offer. The T-Mobile Behold by Samsung has provoked plenty of discussion since its announcement, making us all the more eager to get our hands on this touchscreen handset. SlashGear Week in Review – Week 46 2008

It’s been a mobile device bonanza this week, with the AT&T Fuze landing at SlashGear and promptly getting hauled over to the Sprint HTC Touch Pro for a damned good comparing.  Meanwhile HTC have set tongues wagging by fettling a version of the Touch HD for a Russian WiMAX carrier: they assure us that the HTC MAX 4G won’t be showing up anywhere else, but forgive us if we’re natural sceptics.  Meanwhile Verizon finally confirmed that the BlackBerry Storm 9530 would hit stores on November 24th, priced from $199.99, AT&T released the QuickFire, and Nokia confirmed the open-secret that is the E63 smartphone.

Telenav just announced the Shotgun, a new Internet-connected personal GPS navigation device (PND).  The Shotgun is the company’s first two-way PND taking advantage of cellular networks to provide real-time traffic alerts, Internet content such as maps and business listings as well as updated gas prices.
