TeleNav have announced that, like the G1, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G is next in line for its subscription-based turn-by-turn navigation app.  Available to download from August 5th – complete with a 30-day free trial available from the company’s site, just to get you hooked – the software includes traffic/incident updates, automatic re-routes, POIs and gas prices, together with speech recognition for programming your destination and finding businesses.

AT&T have released the iPhone version of their Navigator PND program through the App Store [iTunes link], offering turn-by-turn directions on the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.  The Telenav-developed app supports both verbal and on-screen guidance, speech recognition, traffic alerts and full 3D mapping.

TeleNav have announced the first turn-by-turn GPS app for Android and the T-Mobile G1, complete with full color 3D graphics, speech recognition, one-click route recalculation and traffic alerts, together with weather updates, gas prices and restaurant reviews.  Over at Android Community they’ve already been playing with TeleNav, and have their full review up complete with a video demo of the navigation app in action.

Telenav CEO HP Jin stopped by to give us the scoop on a new integrated Telenav service that will be available in Ford Sync compatible cars.  Unlike most personal navigation devices (PND) this service will be always updating itself.

T-Mobile has just sent us what we now believe to be one of the best phones that they have to offer. The T-Mobile Behold by Samsung has provoked plenty of discussion since its announcement, making us all the more eager to get our hands on this touchscreen handset. The biggest question in our mind is, will this phone attract more much-needed traffic to T-Mobile?  Is this phone worth your time? And, more importantly, does it give the T-Mobile G1 a run for its money?

It’s been a mobile device bonanza this week, with the AT&T Fuze landing at SlashGear and promptly getting hauled over to the Sprint HTC Touch Pro for a damned good comparing.  Meanwhile HTC have set tongues wagging by fettling a version of the Touch HD for a Russian WiMAX carrier: they assure us that the HTC MAX 4G won’t be showing up anywhere else, but forgive us if we’re natural sceptics.  Meanwhile Verizon finally confirmed that the BlackBerry Storm 9530 would hit stores on November 24th, priced from $199.99, AT&T released the QuickFire, and Nokia confirmed the open-secret that is the E63 smartphone.

Telenav just announced the Shotgun, a new Internet-connected personal GPS navigation device (PND).  The Shotgun is the company’s first two-way PND taking advantage of cellular networks to provide real-time traffic alerts, Internet content such as maps and business listings as well as updated gas prices.
