LG X3 quad-core ICS smartphone teased in detail

This week it's time to get serious about quad-cores, be it in the tablets that defined CES 2012, the HTC Edge or Endeavor, whatever it ends up being called, and now the LG X3, the device you see in the image here in this post. This device has been tipped to PocketNow as having the fabulous NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor inside, working with a 4.7-inch 1280 x 720 pixel resolution display, and all the while working with a profile that's under 9mm. ASUS Transformer Prime 700 Series hands-on

There's now a couple of Transformer Prime units out there in the world, the original which we've already had the pleasure of reviewing, and the 700 series, one with an improved resolution display and a boosted front-facing camera - not to mention a slight design differentiation on the back of the display. Skyrim demoed on Transformer Prime with Splashtop

Without so much of a hitch in the graphics, NVIDIA showed off the Transformer Prime running the app Splashtop, it running a desktop through its display and, believe it or not, the massively popular game Skyrim. Splashtop will certainly gain a whole lot of bonus users after this, you can bet - that and the Transformer Prime without a doubt. ASUS Eee Pad MeMO announced for $249, ICS and quad-core in tow

NVIDIA and ASUS have announced not only the first official (according to Google) Ice Cream Sandwich tablet this week with the Transformer Prime (its release from today,) they've come out with the real release of the ASUS Eee Pad MeMO, a 7-inch tablet with a quad-core processor and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, all of it for a mere $249. This is the real iPad killer, as that term has become so common, and here it is. The display is a lovely 7-inch WXGA resolution IPS panel, there's 1GB of memory inside, and it has an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor on the inside. Read The Full Story

NVIDIA embraces Ice Cream Sandwich with the Transformer Prime

In a fully green-lit environment on the first full day of CES 2012, NVIDIA's Jen-Hsng Huang outlined their 2012 focus, and all was quad-core. The event began with Huang speaking about how they'd be moving through Tablets, a secret additional feature of Tegra 3, and vehicle integration. Acer Iconia Tab 2012 Hands-on

Acer dropped a gigantic teaser in an Android tablet which works as its next generation Acer Iconia Tab, it having massive high definition display, quad-core chip, and a whole new form factor. The high definition display sits at 1920 x 1200 pixels, it runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and it runs an NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. Qualcomm: Tegra 3 is a “single use product”

Qualcomm is pushing to make its Snapdragon mobile chipset brand more visible in the consumer marketplace, dismissing the threat of NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 as a “single use product” and even temporarily rebranding the Qualcomm Stadium as the “Snapdragon Stadium” from this weekend. Speaking at a pre-CES briefing today, Qualcomm’s Senior Vice President of Software Strategy Rob Chandhok suggested that, while Tegra 2 may have been found in many of the headline-grabbing tablets and phones over the past twelve months, “in the mobile space, I’m not sure that NVIDIA has any more brand awareness than we do.” The company is similarly unconcerned about the quadcore Tegra 3.

ASUS Transformer Prime hands-on with games Bladeslinger, Glowball, Chidori

Transformer Prime available 12/19 says ASUS

In addition to our first hands-on post and introduction to our review series on the ASUS Transformer Prime, we’ve got official word from the manufacturer on availability of the device in stores. While recent unconfirmed reports had the tablet coming out early in December, we’ve now got confirmation coming straight from ASUS that shipments should line up with the start of the week of 12/19/2011, this setting the release about one week later than the incorrect accounts. Furthermore, the first firmware over the air update is set to be released on the second of December, this putting it in plenty of time to be popping up on new Prime owners screens right out of the box.
