NVIDIA teams with Linux Foundation

This week we're more than pumped up to check out HTC's offering next week at Mobile World Congress 2012, and it appears that the folks at IT Pro Portal have had a stroke of luck seeing the first device in HTC's lineup for themselves. NVIDIA makes pact with LTE partners for Tegra 3 speed supremacy
Today the folks at NVIDIA have announced their brand new partnership with two of the world's top cellular silicon suppliers GCT Semiconductor and Renesas Mobile, both of them set to developer LTE alongside Tegra 3 a more integrated solution in smart devices than ever before. NVIDIA also recently announced their first Icera modem-toting smartphone which will also bring the chip-giant up in the world of all-chips in each mobile device. With Icera under NVIDIA's wing and the two big names in LTE development joining forces with them this week, NVIDIA is set to bring the integrated heat in 2012.

NVIDIA Tegra 3 VSMP technology renamed 4-PLUS-1
Back when we were first learning about the amazing technology in the system-on-chip architecture of the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, the term "VSMP" was used to describe the "ninja core" it included. That extra core, the fifth core, also known as the "companion core" is now set to be described in a much more "everyman" term: 4-PLUS-1. What the NVIDIA 4-PLUS-1 quad-core architecture here does is the same thing we described all those weeks ago, it's simply much more clear with a brand new name attached to it.

LG Optimus 4X HD revealed and detailed with NVIDIA Tegra 3
This week LG Electronics have released information on their first NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor toting smartphone, the LG Optimus 4X HD. This device follows up on the world’s first dual-core device, the LG Optimus 2X, and comes with everything from HD video playback to a high efficiency battery. This smartphone has a massive 4.7-inch display, 8.9mm thickness across the whole device, and a super-thin bezel around the screen – and of course, the NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.5GHz quad-core processor.
