Nexus 9 hits digital shelves in several configurations

Nexus 9 hits digital shelves in several configurations

The same day Google has dropped the embargo for the Nexus 9 non-review they've also released the device for sale. This machine is only going to be offered through the Google Play Devices store for now, but eventually it'll see action in physical stores across the United States and the rest of the world. This device is the first HTC-made tablet to be part of the Android Nexus lineup and the first tablet to run Android 5.0 Lollipop - not to mention the first Android device to run with 64-bit processing.

Nexus 9 hands-on – Google’s tablet grows up

Nexus 9 hands-on – Google’s tablet grows up

A new HTC tablet has been a long time coming, and so the Nexus 9 takes no chances, HTC partnering up with Google to make not only the Android retort to the iPad Air 2 but a showcase for what Lollipop can do when given more than a smartphone screen. Replacing the Nexus 7 with a larger, more premium - and more expensive - version, not to mention retiring the Nexus 10 in the process, the Nexus 9 is also the first true 64-bit tablet running Android. I caught up with HTC for some early playtime ahead of its November release.

Man vs Machine: I raced against Audi’s self-driving RS 7

Man vs Machine: I raced against Audi’s self-driving RS 7

When it comes to proving the potential of self-driving cars, you can go big or go home, and in the case of Audi that means it's racing time. This track day is unlike any other I’ve been on, simply because this is the first time in history where I or any automotive journalist has had the opportunity to take a hot lap inside what Audi calls a “piloted driving” vehicle or, to the rest of the world, an autonomous car. Taking autopilot smarts to a level never done before, Audi modified two RS 7 sedans with race car driver-like levels of intelligence, and then challenged me to beat them in a hot lap.

New rumor says Nexus 9 coming next week

New rumor says Nexus 9 coming next week

Google’s incoming Nexus tablet is believed to be launching soon, possibly (read: likely) replacing the Nexus 10, which has languished in the Play Store since being introduced along with the original Nexus 7. A new report suggests Google will announce the tablet next week, likely positioning it as a Nexus 10 replacement. The price tag alone suggests as much, but the 9-inch screen on the Nexus 9 would likely step on big brother’s toes a bit. We are still wondering if the Nexus 9 is also meant to take the place of the Nexus 7 tablet.
