If that $199.99 price tag for the T-Mobile G2, manufactured by HTC, was good news, and you're still interested in getting your hands on the shiny new device featuring Android 2.2, then you're in for some good news. T-Mobile G2 gets $199.99 price tag courtesy of Best Buy

T-Mobile USA were so excited yesterday when they officially announced the T-Mobile G2 that they forgot to specify how much the Android 2.2 Froyo smartphone would be or when exactly it would arrive on shelves.  Happily Best Buy's press release writers have far more common sense; the retailer has confirmed that the G2 is up for preorder sometime today - at $199.99 with a new, two-year agreement - and will begin shipping October 6th. T-Mobile G2 gets official: due later in September

Having been teased back in August, the T-Mobile G2 has finally made its official debut.  The successor to the original T-Mobile G1, the G2 packs a full QWERTY hardware keyboard, a 3.7-inch WVGA with an unusual hinge design, and a Qualcomm MSM7230 800MHz chipset which also includes HSPA+ connectivity. T-Mobile's upcoming G2 smartphone has broken cover, with Engadget being sent images of the new HSPA+ handset in the wild.  Basically an HTC Vision with an HSPA+ modem, it's also now clear that the vague outline on T-Mobile's teaser page hides a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, an optical trackpad and, if the rumors are true, a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen and 1GHz Snapdragon processor. T-Mobile USA has just pinged us to flag up their latest teaser site, for the new T-Mobile G2.  Billed as the network's first HSPA+ smartphone - which T-Mobile reckon will deliver speeds on a par with 4G rivals - there's scant detail as to the identity or specifications of the G2 itself, but we're guessing it's the HTC-made QWERTY slider previously known as the HTC Vision or T-Mobile G1 Blaze. HTC HD2 to get new mobile entertainment options on T-Mobile

TmoNews released some pictures from T-Mobile. These pictures are of sheets that were given to select customers that were asked to participate in a survey to offer their feedback on new names for the next Google Phone. It isn't clear why they don't go with G2, the next logical name after G1, since the phone is the direct successor to the first Android device. Read The Full Story

T-Mobile G2 breaks cover: Still HTC, no keyboard, due mid-May

T-Mobile’s next Android-powered smartphone has apparently emerged, in the shape of the T-Mobile G2.  Still made by HTC, the handset differs significantly from the first-generation Android device in that it has no hardware QWERTY keyboard.  Instead, the casing is much thinner and has a high-gloss white finish.
