Active Media Products has a ton of SSDs for all sorts of products and uses that are in its SaberTooth line. The last of the products we talked about was the SaberTooth ZF SSD that was aimed at use in small notebooks and other devices. IBM builds 120-petabyte storage array!

IBM is staffed with some geeks with big aspirations for sure. The gang at IBM has whipped up a little storage array for an unnamed customer that will use it for some unnamed task. The storage array happens to be the largest in all the land at 120 petabytes. That is 120 million gigabytes. OWC outs cheap 60GB SSD called the Mercury Electra 6G

SSDs are getting ever more popular as the price comes down and the storage capacity goes up. OWC has announced a new SSD that it says is one of the cheapest around at $129.99 for a 60GB device. That isn't enough storage for most of us, but it would make a very nice boot drive if you have more storage to put in. Samsung has outed its latest solid-state drive range, the Samsung SSD 830 series, offering up to 512GB of high-speed storage with a SATA 3.0 interface. Samsung unveils new high-performance 512GB SSD with SATA Revision 3.0 interface

Samsung has rolled out a new SSD that uses the fast SATA Revision 3 interface good for 6Gb/s of data throughput. The SSD is model number PM830 and it comes in capacities up to 512GB. Samsung is aiming the new SSD at ultra-slim notebooks and tablets. The PM830 SSDs began sample production back in May and are now in volume production. Active Media Products SaberTooth ZF SSD upgrade kits debut

Active Media Products has launched a new series of SSD upgrade kits that will work for smaller notebooks and netbooks including the MacBook Air first gen notebook. The SSD that the upgrade kits use is the 1.8-inch Turbo Speed PATA ZIF SSD. The SSD has a parallel ATA ZIF interface and will work with just about all notebooks that use that interface. Iomega unveils new Mac Companion Hard Drive with charge port

Iomega has announced a new Mac external storage solution called the Mac Companion Hard Drive with a high-power charge port on it for charging your devices via USB. The storage solution is the TeraStation Pro Windows Storage Server (WSS) and they come in several different RAID enabled versions. GE announces breakthrough in holographic data storage performance

The Blu-ray disc is only a few years from winning the battle with HD-DVD to become the defacto format for HD films. Blu-ray discs are also being used when people have a large amount of data on their computer that they need to archive in a small amount of space. One of the key draws to Blu-ray from DVDs and CDs for storage was to get more data in the same physical space for data archival.
