Behold, Furbacca: the Furby Chewbacca

Behold, Furbacca: the Furby Chewbacca

The very first licensed Furby toy in the history of Hasbro's Furby lineup is, appropriately, from Star Wars. Furbacca, he's called, and he's part of Hasbro's return to the market with the Furby brand. Chewbacca's visage might be slightly less recognizable than your average licensed Star Wars collectible or toy - coming with the standard yellow beak of the Furby rather than his own furry set of chompers. Is this a one-off, or is this the start of something great for Hasbro's strange, speaking electronic friend collection?

The first release was back in November of 2014 when the first "Classic" Star Wars pack brought on all of your favorite original characters from the first three movies. Now it's time to get animated.

Also on board as director for a standalone Star Wars film is Gareth Edwards, and tipped to star as the female lead for his movie in particular is Felicity Jones, perhaps best known at the moment for her role in The Theory of Everything and the new movie True Story.

Millennium Falcon drone: functional and one-of-a kind

Personal drones are fun toys (and useful tools), and we've seen them surface in increasingly fashionable forms. There's the Bionic Bird, for example, which looks like any other bird but comes with a few mechanical upgrades. That Back to the Future DeLorean drone is even better, mashing together nostalgia and skilled craftsmanship for a miniature time traveler. And now there's the Millennium Falcon drone, latest to the growing number of flying vehicle replicas taking to the sky. As always, we've a video of it in action after the jump.

Star Wars Humble Bundle summons the Dark Forces

Today Humble Bundle brings heat with a number of Star Wars-themed games for PC, Linux, and Mac. The team behind Humble Bundle have successfully high-fived the folks who own the rights to these games - previously called LucasArts - and are pushing cash to charity. Users are asked to pay $1 or more - hopefully a lot more - to gain access to a number of rad games from Star Wars history. And what's that - at least one super classic title - Dark Forces, the original 3rd-party Dash Rendar-like character first person shooter back from the dead.

Aaron Paul attached to Han Solo Star Wars spin-off film

With more than one Star Wars film being made at a time and Star Wars 7 well on the way, it's high time we started to hear more about the spin-off films that'll appear between each of the hero flicks over the next few years. First up: Han Solo. This film's title is still unknown, but reliable sources have pointed toward "Luminac Industrial Goods" as the code name for production. Something like Blue Harvest for Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi.

Sadly, Disney and LucasFilm have decided that the Expanded Universe is now considered non-canon, and starting January 1st, 2015, Marvel will be taking over the rights to Star War comics.
