PS4 game range set to surge with ex-LucasArts talent hire

PS4 game range set to surge with ex-LucasArts talent hire

If there's one thing LucasArts was good at, it was getting to know 3rd-party game creators - that's essentially the base for their entire industry, after all. When you run a gaming company that's creating games that are (mostly) based in the Star Wars universe, you've got to work with a collection of developers - at least that's how it used to be, before Disney shut down LucasArts. Now the Third Party Relations team is happy to bring former LucasArts producer Gio Corsi aboard here several months after the closing of LucasArts in early 2013.

Angry Birds Star Wars 2 character gallery expands past 3-film limits

If we didn't know any better, we'd say the folks at Rovio are aiming to release an Angry Birds Star Wars game that goes not only to the worlds presented in the prequels, but to some favorites from Return of the Jedi as well. What we're seeing this afternoon is a series of new teaser videos from the creators of the ultra-popular franchise showing off new characters (of which there are set to be over 30, believe it or not) arriving in the game Angry Birds Star Wars II. This game is set to run the expanse of the galaxy, without a doubt.

Star Wars TV show a possibility as Lucasfilm chats with ABC

Now that Disney owns both Marvel Comics and Lucasfilm (and Star Wars therein), the company has begun taking liberties with its wares, speaking this week with ABC about the possibility of a Star Wars-themed television show. This is hardly unprecedented, as the Marvel Comics television adaptation of the secret organization behind The Avengers hit the airwaves earlier this year in a show called Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., also with ABC. There's also a cartoon delivery vehicle for Star Wars in The Clone Wars, a show broadcast through Cartoon Network.

Angry Birds “brand new game” teased for Monday reveal

As what first looked like a small tease for an update to Angry Birds Star Wars, Rovio seems to be teasing much more than that. Today, the Finnish game developing studio revealed that they will be announcing a "brand new game" on Monday that looks to Star Wars related, but seeing as it's a "brand new game," we could be looking forward to an Angry Birds Star Wars sequel, rather than just an update to the original movie-themed game.

Angry Birds Star Wars Lando update totes thermal detonator

Angry Birds Star Wars Lando update totes thermal detonator

The Star Wars iteration of the Angry Birds collection of apps has been updated this week with the dapper Lando Calrissian in bird form. This character is bringing along with him the ability to blast three bolts as his closest associate Han Solo bird, but instead of them being shot one after the other all in the same direction, they're let loose all at once: two diagonals and a straight-on shot. This update also brings on a collection of power-ups activated in a similar way to the Millenium Falcon attack.

Star Wars Episode VII trailer marks first fakery gone viral

Here in the spring of 2013, very little is clear on how the now Disney-owned Lucasfilm will be going about releasing the next wave of Star Wars films. What is clear is that they will, indeed, be releasing not one, but several live-action films based in the Star Wars universe - but that small an amount of information isn't going to stop the massive waves of fans of the series creating mock-up trailers such as the one you're about to see today, passing them off as real for the fun of it.
