According to NPD Group, video game sales dropped 25-percent in February, with sales declining across the board: games, hardware, and accessories. Sony drops PS Vita 3G to $199 in some US Sony Stores

On February 18, Sony dropped the price of its PS Vita in Japan to 19,980 yen ($212) due to lackluster sales. According to the folks over at Joystiq, the price drop has reached parts of the US, with Sony Stores across the nation offering the PS Vita 3G for $199.97. A patent application has just revealed that Google is going to be implementing rear-touch controls for its future Android smartphones. The patent is similar to a patent filed by Apple in 2006, which it planned on using to implement the rear-touch feature in its future iPads. However, it's been 7 years since Apple was granted the patent, and yet there are still no iPads with rear-touch controls. It looks like Sony slashing the prices of its PS Vita systems have done it wonders. Sony had cut the price of its PS Vita down to 19,980 yen from 24,980 yen due to its struggling sales. It looked like the 30% price cut worked because Sony saw sales quadruple for the device compared to two weeks ago. Sony announces unlocked Xperia ZL destined for US

Sony has confirmed that its Xperia ZL smartphone, similar to its Xperia Z, will be available in the United States. Even better, the 5-inch handset will be unlocked, and can be used with both T-Mobile and AT&T.
