Sony Cyber-shot TX300V camera adds wireless charging & transfers

Sony has been keeping its best point-and-shoot cameras for the home market, quietly launching the Japan-only Cyber-shot TX300V, a wireless charging and content-offloading version of the recent Cyber-shot TX200V. Like the TX200V, the TX300V has an 18.2-megapixel backside-illuminated CMOS sensor and BIONZ processing, as well as integrated WiFi; however, Sony will also bundle a TransferJet-enabled "Multi-Cradle" dock, that simultaneously charges the camera and sucks out your photos. PS Vita 3G priced for February 22 UK launch

Sony's PS Vita 3G will hit the UK on February 22, carrier Vodafone has confirmed, on a pre-pay data plan which - when topped up for the first time - will unlock a free download of WipEout 2048. Set to hit the US in 3G form on AT&T also on February 22, the Vita will be priced at £279 ($444) in the UK and come with a 4GB memory card and a pre-pay data SIM. Read The Full Story

Sony's PS Vita launched to some decently strong sales in Japan back during the holiday season of 2011. Japanese sales of the portable console quickly fell off and are now below 20,000 a week. The Vita is set to launch in the US and if you're hoping to be a get your old UMD PSP games over to the Vita, Sony has announced really bad news. If you think back when the current consoles like the Nintendo Wii and Sony PS3 hit the market, Sony was left playing catch-up and tacked on a rarely used motion control feature of the PS3 to try and match what the Wii had. If the sketches that are included new Sony patent that surfaced are any indication, Sony isn't ready to let the new Wii U rocking controllers with little LCD screens get the better of it this time around.
