Sony Xperia NXT series now available unlocked in the USA

If you can’t get the carriers onboard with your new smartphones, why not just sell them unlocked directly to customers? That’s what Sony is hoping to do with the NXT series. The phones have been available in Europe for the past month or two and are just now hitting the United States. Sony will be offering the Sony Xperia S, Xperia P, and Xperia U fully unlocked in a range of different colors from Sony stores and at Newegg. Read The Full Story

Sony pushed the Xperia S out of the door back in March, but the Xperia P and Xperia U have lagged behind a little in making it to market. Both of those devices are finally with us, and just like HTC, Sony seems to be banking on three phones hitting different price brackets to try and jump start its smartphone career. The Xperia U may be the cheapest in the NXT line, but it does have some solid specs: a dual-core 1Ghz processor, 854×480 3.5-inch screen, and five megapixel camera. How does it hold up? Sony has officially announced the Xperia U, the company's latest Android smartphone and the first to debut at Mobile World Congress under the newly-created Sony Mobile Communications brand. A smaller version of the Xperia S and ion launched at CES last month, the Xperia U has a 3.5-inch Reality Display along with interchangeable chin sections to customize it to your liking.
