With the XPERIA X10 splayed open for all to see, attention turns to other leaky Sony Ericsson devices and in particular the Kurara.  Tipped to be the more basic sibling to the current flagship SE Satio, the Kurara is believed to have a 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen, 8.1-megapixel autofocus camera and run Symbian S60.

It’s taken a while, but Sony Ericsson’s Satio and Aino cellphones are finally hitting shelves, at least in the UK.  The two touchscreen handsets were first announced back in May – you can see our hands-on videos with each after the cut – and aim to deliver both entertainment and communication.  The Aino (seen here in its bundled dock) can stream content from a PlayStation 3 via the Sony Remote Play system, while the Satio (previously known as the SE Idou) packs a 16:9 3.5-inch touchscreen and 12.1-megapixel autofocus camera.

SlashGear has been hanging out with Google this week, at the I/O 2009 conference.  You can read our first day and second day highlights for the full details, but perhaps the most interesting news was Google’s Wave demo for iPhone and Android, and Andy Rubin’s confirmation that there should be 18-20 Android handsets on the market by the end of the year.  One of those is expected to be the HTC Hero; make sure to check out the promo video for the chin-heavy smartphone.

Sony Ericsson’s Satio has seen a few changes since its last MWC appearance (as the Idou), most of which have taken place on the inside.  Running the latest version of Symbian S60, complete with UI fettling from Sony Ericsson themselves, it’s now a harmonious and consistent OS with no glaring leftovers of its non-touchscreen past.
