Sonos’ Home Audio Just Got A Sirius Boost

LinuxDevices is reporting, Sonos, known for their easy set-up home audio equipment and wireless streaming of all sorts of audio, has recently made the choice to add Sirius to their list of services they offer.

We did a review of some of their older equipment a while back, you can find that here. Since then they have added a pair of speakers to their lineup and that’s pretty much it. The big news comes in the form of this being one of the first Linux-powered devices to be granted the right to play Sirius.

PS3 Firmware Hits 1.3; 1080i Issue Still There

If you're one of the very, very few people lucky enough to have snagged a PlayStation 3 at this stage of the game, Sony has just released their latest firmware update, designed to bring new features and bugfixes to your ubermachine. One thing of note: the new update does NOT take care of the 1080i upscaling issue that we reported last month, so if you're still running your PS3 on an older HDTV that doesn't support 720p (but supports 1080i), be prepared for your games to still run at 480p. Bummer. For a complete list of changes, hit the jump!

SONOS Digital Music System Reviewed

The Sonos Digital Music System is the must have home audio system for today's digital music lovers. The system allows for digital music from multiple sources to be wirelessly streamed to multiple zones and controlled from multiple locations to play in synchronization or to each play different music. All this might be expected from a home audio system, but the key here is the super easy wireless setup, the convenient Rhapsody integration, and the clean modest design that fits well in any room. This system makes a mighty contender for your wallet this holiday season, and I got my lucky hands on a set for a test drive.

My experience with it was great and I have to say it in the spirit of the golden arches that I'm lov'n it. I am more the typical mp3 hording, iPod toting individual and not an extreme decked out audiophile, and so I feel unqualified to really judge the sound quality. But to my untrained ears, I found the sound quality to be superb.
