Galaxy S III announced for five USA carriers at once

Samsung has announced today that their next hero device, the Samsung Galaxy S III, will be coming to five major mobile carriers here in the United States all at once. In addition to the top four carriers starting at $199 on-contract, the likes of Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T will be joined by U.S. Wireless as well. This is a giant step for the fifth largest carrier in the states, and we expect that their version will also be getting 4G LTE, as Verizon and AT&T's versions will get 4G LTE while T-Mobile gets HSPA+ 42!

HTC One S launched in Taiwan with Snapdragon S3

HTC One S launched in Taiwan with Snapdragon S3

Typically these days we see different SoCs being used in phones due to LTE incompatibility, but the Taiwanese HTC One S may not be using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor due to a possible supply shortage, which would make sense: it’s a heavily sought after chip, used in several high-end smartphones this year. The Taiwanese model will instead use a Snapdragon S3 dual-core chip clocked at 1.7Ghz.

HTC EVO 4G LTE vs HTC One X

Now that the HTC EVO 4G LTE and the HTC One X have been released from customs - or so we've heard - we can start deciding which one we really want when we head to the store this week. What we've got here are two devices of the same mind, each with a 4.7-inch display, the same Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core processor, and what very much appears the be the same camera on the back as well. The big difference then lies not in the hardware, but in the carrier - and with LTE on both devices, it might be a tough call - right?

Verizon Galaxy S III S4 dualcore beats Exynos in GPU testing

The Galaxy S III tidbits keep on coming, and after promising battery indications comes further evidence that Verizon's variant of the smartphone will pack a dualcore Snapdragon S4 rather than Samsung's own quadcore chip. Premature NenaMark2 benchmarks suggest Verzion's SCH-I535 Galaxy S III will indeed swap the Exynos for a 1.5GHz S4, presumably the same chipset as in the LTE-toting One X, as Samsung moves to accommodate the 4G technology.
