DISH and Qualcomm team up for satellite chipset

Seems like everyone wants to make use of the new Snapdragon S4 SoC, with DISH and Qualcomm announcing a partnership that will see the popular chipset used in upcoming wireless devices. DISH is hoping to create mobile handsets that will be able to take use of the integrated 3G and LTE radios while also leveraging a satellite mode. DISH looks to be utilizing its spectrum to deliver wireless broadband on the ground in addition to its satellite service.

This week the folks at Qualcomm have confirmed that they'll be working with manufacturers across the board to put their own Snapdragon processor line in to Windows Phone 8 Apollo devices. Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 lineup had been completely covered by Qualcomm chips thus far, and an announcement that they will continue to do so should be seen as a good sign for the company's future worth for Microsoft.

T-Mobile USA selling Galaxy S III from June 21st

Didn’t think T-Mobile were just going to let Verizon have all the fun, did you? Big Magenta has also laid out its pre-order plans for the Samsung Galaxy S III. The phone will be made available for pre-order shortly, with a sign-up page thrown up on T-Mobile's site for now. The handset will officially go on sale on June 21st, and although no pricing details were given in the press release, the cost is said to be $199.99 for the 16GB model.

Galaxy S III announced for five USA carriers at once

Samsung has announced today that their next hero device, the Samsung Galaxy S III, will be coming to five major mobile carriers here in the United States all at once. In addition to the top four carriers starting at $199 on-contract, the likes of Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T will be joined by U.S. Wireless as well. This is a giant step for the fifth largest carrier in the states, and we expect that their version will also be getting 4G LTE, as Verizon and AT&T's versions will get 4G LTE while T-Mobile gets HSPA+ 42!
