Microsoft Band 2 gains appeal with lower price

Microsoft Band 2 gains appeal with lower price

The Microsoft Band 2 hit the market in late 2015 and looked much better to the eye than the original wearable from Microsoft. The biggest downside to that wearable was the price tag for many people, when it originally debuted the Band 2 sold for $249.99. Microsoft is aiming to make its device more appealing to buyers not by adding features or updating software, but by slashing the price by $75.

LG: No 3rd Nexus 5, Watch Urbane 2nd Ed still coming

Nexus devices have been made by quite a number of Google's partners, but none perhaps is more familiar, or perhaps more favored, than LG. It has, to date, made three Nexus smartphones, the Nexus 4, the Nexus 5, and the most recent Nexus 5X. Those who have preferred the Korean OEM's more budget friendly spins might be disappointed that LG has, more or less, formally said it won't be involved in the next Nexus smartphone. As an unrelated consolation, however, it promises that the Watch Urbane 2nd Edition hasn't been canceled. At least not yet.

Pagare smartstraps turn Pebble Time into payment machines

Pagare smartstraps turn Pebble Time into payment machines

Despite the now ubiquitous Android Wear smartwatches and Apple Watch timepieces, Pebble still has a strong and loyal following, thanks to its simplicity, battery life, and being so far one of the few truly cross-platform smartwatches in the market. Simplicity, however, sometimes has a price to pay, like in the form of features that are also becoming more prevalent on more mainstream smartwatches. Like contactless mobile payment systems. Pagare, however, has found a way around that, to deliver the same convenience as Android Pay or Apple Pay on Pebble Time, without having to swap out smartwatches.
