Sony and Nintendo have each turned to gaming stalwart SEGA to help them pad out their gaming options, resurrecting classic titles from the company's back catalog for the PS3 and 3DS. The PlayStation Plus gaming membership program now offers six Genesis titles - including Sonic 1 and Streets of Rage 2 - for free download, while Nintendo's Virtual Console for the 3DS will get its own selection of titles from SEGA's Game Gear line-up. Bizarre 1999 Dreamcast classic Seaman is set to spook a new generation of gamers on the Nintendo 3DS, according to Japanese reports, though it's unclear if Leonard Nimoy will return to the franchise. The game's return is part of Nintendo's plan to bring other classics to the 3D-capable handheld in an attempt to broaden its appeal, the Nikkei reports, with Seaman being just one of the titles apparently in consideration. Sega's classic arcade shooter House of the Dead will be making another appearance in the land of console gaming this year. House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut, once Wii exclusive, was released for the PlayStatoin 3 last year. Soon that won't be the only House of the Dead title available to PS3 users. Sega has confirmed that 1.3m users of its Sega Pass online network have had their personal information stolen, after the service was hacked last week. "We are deeply sorry for causing trouble to our customers" spokesperson Yoko Nagasawa told Reuters, "we want to work on strengthening security." Sega Jumping into Facebook Games with Baseball

Sega will be entering the US social games business this month with an American version of Sega Play! Baseball, according to Total Telecom. Sega has done social games in Japan up to this point, and now is going to try its hand in the US, competing with Zynga, among others.
