Baidu to share revenue with Apple for iOS deal

Apple recently confirmed that it will be offering Baidu as an additional search engine option for iOS users in China, while Google will remain the default. New sources from Bloomberg are confirming rumors that Apple may be replacing Google with Baidu for the Chinese version of iOS. The sources say that the announcement could come as soon as next week, when Apple will be hosting its annual WWDC event. Google Street View case may see further action in UK

The Street View saga continues tor Google. Following the FCC investigation in which the search company was fined $25,000, a UK watchdog has said that it intends to look further into the issue. Yahoo! Axis security issue discovered

Yahoo! launched its Axis search browser for iOS, PCs, and Macs this morning, but did it rush it out the door? Some have found it strange how Yahoo! offers Axis as an extension rather than an actual browser, and that may have lead to a security issue with Chrome. Extensions are signed with a security certificate so that Google knows it comes from a trusted source. Yahoo! seem to have included its own private certificate in the browser code for all to see. Google has been the subject of an antitrust investigation in Europe since 2010, and the search giant may soon begin to feel the heat. The European Union’s antitrust chief has told Google that solutions to the antitrust concerns should be offered in a “matter of weeks”. Microsoft So.cl opens social search for all

Microsoft's So.cl social network and companion search tool has exited beta, promising to integrate comprehensive data gathering into a research tool ideal for students and knowledge addicts. Unveiled back in December 2011, So.cl was described at the time as a way of creating "montages of visual web content" by tagging search results and seeing other suggested topics from fellow researchers. However, Microsoft continues to insist that So.cl is intended to live alongside - not replace - your Facebook, Google+ or Twitter account. Google overhauls search with new knowledge graph

Google announced today that it will be overhauling its search in the next few days to incorporate what they call a knowledge graph. The new format places context-sensitive information about the search to the right of of the list of conventional search results.
