There’s a cheaper BB-8 “drone” too, from Hasbro

Just in case you didn't want to get the real-deal BB-8 by Sphero this Force Friday, there is another. This is supposing you're not wanting to pay one hundred and fifty dollars for the greatest Star Wars toy ever made, that is to say. If that's a bit out of your price range, there's also the Hasbro Target exclusive remote control BB-8, one that's not nearly so fantastic, one that works with AA-batteries instead of rechargeable built-in batteries.

BB-8 by Sphero Review: the best Star Wars toy ever made

BB-8 by Sphero Review: the best Star Wars toy ever made

The "BB-8 by Sphero" is a robot toy that combines the high-tech remote-control spherical fun of the original Sphero with the life force of the newest droid hero from Star Wars. This is the "ball droid" you've likely seen in the first, second, and/or third teaser trailer video for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. This device incorporates remote control with a smartphone, augmented reality, and the ability to roll around and act entirely autonomously all around your house, recording data and exploring your hallways as he does so.

That's not all - there's a super tiny clip of Rey as well!

LawBreakers trailer destroys Earth’s moon, fudges science a bit

In the first trailer for the Boss Key production LawBreakers, this game suggests what might happen were our moon to suddenly explode. They suggest that this explosion was caused by humans - that'd be a feat in and of itself: this massive rock is 3,475 km in diameter and not an easy nut to crack. The moon would require the equivalent of 30 trillion megatons of TNT to destroy - 600 billion nuclear warheads or more. Luckily, "clandestine government testing on the lunar surface" has this covered.

Sorry McFly, Lexus’ Hoverboard is just a clever ruse

The Lexus Hoverboard demo has gone live, with a full 2-minute video of the real-deal innovation playing out in the world's first "hoverpark." This hoverboard requires that the user be hovering above a metal surface, so we can safely assume that every bit of footage you see here was captured above a surface that, at some distance below the surface, is metal enough. Here Lexus demonstrates "the desire to create enjoyment out of motion." We'll take two please in neon pink, thank you.
