ALIEN and ALIENS return to theaters this summer

This summer both ALIEN and ALIENS will be returning to the big screen, appearing in theaters in over 20 cities. On the 26th of April, "ALIEN DAY" both ALIEN and ALIENS will be shown as a double-feature in celebration of the return of the ALIEN series. The date this feature presentation comes to theaters corresponds with the original planet designation of the origin of the creatures seen in the first two films: LV-426.

Star Wars Droid Translator Helmets turn you into DIY-D2

Two DIY Star Wars enthusiasts have taken to the shop to make a very strange invention. This is the Droid Translator Helmet, and it'll turn your voice into Droid-speak for a second helmet to pick up and translate. Sort of. There's a bit of a trick to it. Instead of actually translating speech word-for-word to a series of beeps and boops, these helmets play sounds from the movies. The speech is not exactly translated so much as it is transmitted.

Lucasfilm and Disney have an announcement for Star Wars fans and budding filmmakers alike: the Star Wars Fan Film Awards are returning for 2016. In what used to be a tradition for the Star Wars fan community, Lucasfilm and Disney have brought it back for the last few years, apparently turning it into an annual event to coincide with the Star Wars Celebration. The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams even introduces the competition in the announcement video below.

Guardians of the Galaxy comic hints at Star Wars crossover

The comic book "Guardians of Infinity" is the newest in a line of releases made possible in part due to the success and popularity of the Guardians of the Galaxy film release. In the first of these comics, the team - including Drax the Destroyer, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot - are exploring a mysterious facility, the contents of which are unknown to them. They come upon a wall covered with dust - under which they're able to read words written in the Star Wars universe language called "Basic", in characters from their alphabet, known as the Aurebesh.
