Satechi has announced the BT Smart Trigger for Canon DSLR cameras. It’s essentially a wireless shutter trigger that you can control from an iOS device, and it utilizes the latest Bluetooth 4.0 as the wireless protocol, ensuring that you have a solid and fast wireless connection at all times, with a max range of 50 feet.

What’s perhaps more impressive is that Satechi claims that its Smart Trigger is capable of a battery life of up to 10 years, which seems almost impossible in a world where smartphones can’t even last a half-day. Either way, the Smart Trigger is compatible with a wide range of Canon cameras, including the 5D Mark III, Rebel T4i, and 60D.

The Smart Trigger app itself works with the iPhone 5, iPad Mini, and iPad, and it features multiple shooting modes that provide photographers with a setup that’s ideal for most situations. There’s Regular Shot mode, which is meant for traditional photos, there’s Manual Shot mode, which allows users to adjust different settings, and then there’s Timed Shot mode that turns the camera into a intervalometer of sorts by capturing time-lapses.

The Smart Trigger is available now for $44.99 on Satechi’s website or Amazon.com, and the companion app is free and is available now in the iTunes App Store. As for Android support, Satechi plans to roll out compatibility to various Android devices, such as the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II, sometime next month.

Ever find yourself in need of a tiny, wireless speaker? If you listen to media through the speakers on your laptop or smartphone, you probably have at one point or another, and Satechi has a product aimed directly at you. Today it announced that its new Swift Bluetooth Speaker is available, and its got a price that isn’t going to break the bank if you’re trying to rein in the spending.

As you can see from the images, the speaker itself is quite tiny, and with Bluetooth 3.0 capabilities, it can connect to any Bluetooth-enabled device. Obviously, Satechi is targeting smartphone users more than anyone else with this speaker, as it includes a “multi-function button” that you can use to answer calls or initiate voice dialing. If you have an iPhone 4S, you can also use the button to activate Siri, which is a neat little bonus.

The speaker weighs in at 4.3oz, and Satechi claims that it can stream from up to 33 feet away, which should be especially handy for those using it with a smartphone. It’s rechargeable lithium ion battery is capable of providing up to 4 hours of talk time, 3 hours of playback, and 300 hours of stand-by. Not too shabby for something so tiny. To accompany the announcement, Satechi has also released a rather charming 30-second advertisement, which you can check out below.

Sure, it isn’t the most revolutionary thing around, but for $29.99, it sounds like you’re getting a pretty excellent package. Its wireless Bluetooth setup and lightweight design will be appreciated by those who need a portable speaker, and those who own a smartphone will likely benefit in more ways than one by having it around. It’s available now through Satechi’s online store, so if it’s something you’re interested in, have at it.

This is the Satechi Premium 4 Port Aluminum USB Hub, and it does exactly what it says it will do. It’s made of aluminum, works with USB 2.0 speeds (no faster, no slower than the USB ports we’ve already got on our MacBook Pro, and matches the quality and the feel of the MacBook line almost right on point.

It’s too easy to pop this device in your backpack, purse, or briefcase as you head to the office, classroom, or tech convention – the cord is short enough not to get in the way and long enough to allow you to place the hub about a foot away from the port that’s powering it. The coloration of the aluminum is a tiny bit darker than the Mac’s metal mix, but place the device more than an inch from the notebook and you’ll never know the difference.

This device is available from the Satechi online store right this second for $24.99 and is certainly worth the cash. Until Apple releases the equivalent, this is as close as you’re going to get to this kind of hub with the Apple look and feel on the market anywhere – believe it! Now we just need to wait for the USB 3.0 version for our next-level speed on the go – soon, we hope!

This week the folks at Satechi are bringing a couple of small accessories to the world of USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports for your computer. They’ve got one rather smashingly vibrant looking yellow-colored USB 3.0 hub that will allow you to make use of your single USB 3.0 here expanded to four! Satechi also expands your USB 2.0 port to four lovely ports in a new hub made especially for Apple computers with its cool aluminum construction.

The Satechi Premium Aluminum 2.0 4-Port USB features a 9.5-inch cable and is made to match precisely the coloration and smooth lines of the MacBook and Mac Pro lines from Apple. Stick all your USB sticks, digital camera cords, printers, and whatever else you’ve got ready to port right in for some fabulous 2.0 action. For those of you working with a PC with that next-level blue-rimmed USB 3.0 port you love so much, the boldly colored 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub will be bringing you additional 4.8Gbps speed in no time.

Both of these hubs are newly available from Satechi who expand their horizons from their already expansive USB hub lineup. Satechi is also known for their Bluetooth-ready family of accessories as well as their fabulous tiny speakers for your mobile devices. Check out the 2.0 Hub at Satechi’s online store today for $24.99 and the 3.0 Hub out for $39.99 at their online store as well!

Satechi has unveiled a new Bluetooth remote control that not only works for the iPhone and iPad from Apple, but will work with any OS device supporting Bluetooth. The remote control sells for $39.99 and is a smaller handheld device. The device supports Bluetooth 3.0 class II profile and will also work with computers for controlling multimedia video from across the room.

The little remote control has a home button that activates Siri for controlling the iPhone using your voice. It can be used as a presentation remote control with the MacBook in the business environment. One of the cool features is that the media remote also has a button on it to activate the shutter of a camera such as the iPhone camera.

The remote has a range of 33 feet and uses a pair of small coin cell batteries good for up to six months use. This is an interesting remote since the single device can be used to control just about anything supporting Bluetooth. The remote is available right now.

Manufacturers at Satechi have what the world has wanted for years and never knew it: a 12 Port USB hub, complete with power adapter and 2 control switches: all your smartphones plugged into one single strip. I suppose you’re wondering why you don’t just plug all your devices into the power strip you’ve got sitting here already. I’ll tell you why: that power strip needs to be used for all of your laptops, of course! Here what you’ve got instead is a device which can both power your devices and feed data in and out of your computer – all at the same time!

This certainly isn’t the first USB hub to ever be bestowed upon the earth by the manufacturing gods, but it’s definitely the most awesomely large. There’y only one thing better than a four-port USB hub, and that’s a 12-port USB hub. That’s what Satechi has, and Satechi knows it. Turn on one half, turn on the whole thing, or turn the whole thing off – do what you will with more ports than any one human should have ever been granted access to.

And best of all, this 12 port USB hub is only $27.99 right this second while its “regular price” is all the way up at $39.99. Seems like a pretty decent deal to me. This port hub data rates of up to 480Mbps and is 8 x 1.25 x 1 inches in size. It also has a cable lenth of 40 inches and both a wall power adapter and a USB male plug to connect to your computer – be it Windows 98SE /ME /2000 /XP /Vista /7, Mac OS 9.1 or above, or Linux 2.4 or above. It’s all plug-n-play and requires no additional software.

Onto the SlashGear review bench has fallen one of the most powerful little beat-blasters able to be supplied with said music by a microSD card we may have ever seen. This is the Satechi Audio Move SD, and though you can plug your tiny memory card into its side to bring the heat to the block with stereo sound and some relatively excellent bass, you can also plug your iPhone, your Android, your Windows Phone, your BlackBerry, etcetera and etcetera into the side of this little monster and let the love flow!

This device is made to fit in your adult-sized pocket at 2.5-inches wide and 5-inches long. It’s made to work with both microSDHC and microSD (which you’ll see in the hands-on video shortly). You can plug it in to any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and the battery that’s built-in to the guts, you’ll be getting sounds blasting for hours on end. Have a peek at the hands-on video here and see for yourself the simplicity:

This unit has not yet powered down and we’ve been using it for a couple days. Not without pause, of course, but still – bring this to your workplace and jam on the tunes for a full 8 hours without any trouble whatsoever. You won’t need to charge this device each night – maybe every other night. That being if you’re using the microSD card or the line-in, though we’re to understand that the line-in will bring you more hours than the card alone. You can also plug it in to the wall via your own miniUSB line for as much up time as you like – whatever you want!
