Microsoft pulls Omnia 7 Windows Phone update over “technical issue”

The Windows Phone 7 update has been pulled for Samsung's Omnia 7, after the new firmware was found to brick some users' handsets. Here's an interesting development, part of a story that many would have believed closed. If you've been keeping up with Windows Phone 7, and how Microsoft admitted that tethering won't be supported by the mobile platform right off the bat, then the above title should seem pretty confusing. Deutsche Telekom’s German Windows Phone 7 launch not until November 11

October 21 2010 may be the official launch day for Windows Phone 7 in Europe - that's tomorrow, in case you've not been keeping up - but it seems not all carriers will be rushing to have devices on the market this week.  Deutsche Telekom (aka T-Mobile Germany) has confirmed that its Windows Phone 7 offering, the HTC 7 Mozart, won't be arriving until November 3 2010. Samsung Omnia 7 gets HD Voice on Orange UK

Orange has confirmed that the Samsung Omnia 7 will be HD Voice enabled in the UK, allowing the Windows Phone 7 handset to make higher quality audio calls on their network.  "High Definition Voice" had previously been limited to a handful of Nokia devices, along with the Samsung Omnia Pro; calls between compatible phones promise much reduced background noise, hiss and crackle. Orange UK has confirmed its pair of Windows Phone 7 smartphones, offering the HTC 7 Mozart as an exclusive, together with the Samsung Omnia 7.  The two devices will drop on October 21 2010, with the HTC 7 Mozart being the cheaper model: free with a new, two-year agreement on a £35 contract. Samsung Omnia 7 Windows Phone 7 handset outed early

Samsung's Omnia 7 has joined the LG Optimus 7 in getting an early Windows Phone 7 reveal this morning, with the company's Russian arm outing the 4-inch Super AMOLED WVGA handset already.  The 122.4 x 64.2 x 10.99 mm smartphone runs the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 processor with 8GB of onboard storage and a 5-megapixel autofocus camera.
