Samsung Leads the Way to Wider Smartphones All Around

Earlier today we reported that Samsung had been reconsidering everything about itself as a device manufacturer, from the way it uses information technology to the way it merges and acquires other companies to the definition in its AMOLED screens. The latter point may be the most interesting in this case, especially since the term Super AMOLED HD, that being one better than Super AMOLED Plus is one that’s been spoken in regards to the next generation in the brightest display on the planet. With this news comes word that Samsung will be shrinking down the size of full high-definition screens to fit inside larger smartphones – brightness awaits!

Samsung Hercules Revealed as Galaxy S II Variant

It appears quite obvious that the following photos are of the newest variant of the Samsung Galaxy S II, this time in what's called the Samsung Hercules. This device will, if proven to confirm specs rumored thus far, be T-Mobile's first HSPA+ 42Mbps device and will have an 8 megapixel camera on the back, a lovely silver (metal?) single-piece battery cover, rounded corners, and what appears to be a bit of a curved glass front. AT&T U-Verse Mobile App Now Available For Infuse 4G, HTC HD7S, And More

AT&T has been offering a handy U-Verse Mobile app that lets customers watch TV shows and schedule recordings directly from their smartphones. Apple wins early access to Samsung phones/tablets in copycat case

Samsung must hand over samples from its current and incoming smartphone and tablet range, along with marketing materials, to Apple’s legal team as part of an “expedited discovery” process to see whether allegations of design similarity are accurate. That’s the ruling of San Jose Federal Judge Lucy Koh, Courthouse News reports, who brought forward access to the Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Infuse 4G and DROID Charge after Apple “produced images of Samsung products and other evidence that provide a reasonable basis for Apple’s belief that Samsung’s new products are designed to mimic Apple’s products.”

Samsung Hercules For T-Mobile, Like The Infuse 4G, But Dual-Core

Remember the Samsung Infuse 4G with the ginormous 4.5-inch touchscreen recently announced for AT&T? Well, now it seems Samsung is readying another one of these big boys for T-Mobile. Once again, we attempt to bring you a roundup of the week’s tech news in under 6 minutes. The chaos of the Sony PlayStation Network breach continued into this past week. Apple unleashed an iOS update that addressed most of the location tracking concerns. Intel made their biggest announcement of the year with a new 22-nm 3D Tri-Gate transistor technology that really puts it ahead of the competition. AT&T 4G: Not all HSPA+ Phones are Created Equal

At the Samsung/AT&T event today, the Samsung Infuse 4G was officially announced, and slated to be available May 15th. Our hands-on is here. It was also called the "first phone to support hspa+/hsupa at launch”. Philip Berne has called this phone "remarkably light", weighing less than the Nexus S, even with a screen that's half an inch larger, and with a bigger battery. This morning, we are looking forward to the Samsung Event at 4pm EST. Will it be the Infuse? Will they announce a date for the Galaxy S II for the US? The hot new phone has been selling like crazy in South Korea, and our review unit knocked our socks off. We'll be sure to let you know what happens at the event. Meanwhile, Samsung has revealed a "hybrid tablet" with SENS-240 navigation. But how useful is it, really?
