Various legal battles rage across the world for tech companies, but it looks like Apple isn’t having much luck in the UK. Last week, HTC was found not to infringe on Apple’s patents, with three being found invalid. Now Samsung has been given the all-clear by the High Court of England and Wales. The court found that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 8.9 all have recognizable differences between Apple’s iPad, and as a result will remain on sale in the UK.

It appears that your Samsung Galaxy Tab, almost no matter what model it might be, will be grabbing an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the very near future. A list has been leaked today by Sam Mobile showing every device from the Galaxy Tab Plus 7.0 up to the Galaxy Tab 10.1, each of them getting prepped right this minute for the newest version of Android starting next month!

Samsung loses Galaxy Tab German Apple ban appeal
Samsung's bad luck in German courts continues, with the company's attempts to have Apple's sales ban against the Galaxy Tab 10.1 overturned rejected this week. The Korean firm had protested the Android tablet's injunction at the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court, which found in favor of the injunction instigated by the lower court - initially impacting the majority of Europe, but later limited to just Germany - though for different reasons.

Samsung details ICS upgrades: GSII and Note in Q1 2012
Samsung has officially confirmed the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade schedule for its current line-up of smartphones and tablets, promising that the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will see Android 4.0 in Q1 2012. Eight devices are listed as in line for upgrades, including the Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy R smartphones and the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. Specific timescales for each model – as well as carrier variants – will follow.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 AT&T LTE Hands-on and Unboxing
This week we get our first glimpse of what it means to hold the next addition to the Galaxy Tab family in our hands, the slightly larger than mid-sized Galaxy Tab 8.9 for AT&T’s LTE network. What we’ll be doing in the post you’re looking at here is giving it a relatively brief hands-on look as well as a few photos of how it looks in and out of the box. What you’ll find is that this certainly has little in the way of differences from the rest of the Galaxy Tab line (starting with the 10.1, that is), save for its size which may indeed be the perfect one if you’re a Goldilocks sort of person. The Galaxy Tab 8.9 not nearly as obtuse as the original Galaxy Tab, it’s not as large as the 10.1, and it’s got just a slight bit more screen space than the 7.7. Samsung appears to be covering all the bases: is this home plate?
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 with AT&T’s 4G LTE arriving November 20, free phone in tow
Despite a still nascent 4G LTE network, AT&T is already gearing up to receive a 4G LTE version of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 8.9 tablet. The carrier made the announcement today that the slate will be arriving in stores and online starting November 20. It will be AT&T's second 4G LTE-equipped tablet following the HTC Jetstream.

Samsung Android 4.0 ICS updates in 2012 reportedly detailed
Samsung Italy has reportedly confirmed which of the Korean company’s Android devices will receive an Ice Cream Sandwich update, with models such as the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 each supposedly in line for a 4.0 upgrade. The Italian arm of the firm listed the GSII and the Tab 10.1, HDBlog claims, along with the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Tab 7.7 and Tab 7.0 Plus as all being eligible for a tasty frozen treat. However, don’t expect it any time soon.

Samsung prices Galaxy Tab 8.9 WiFi in US
Samsung US has officially priced up its smaller Android tablet, slapping price tags on the WiFi-only versions of the Galaxy Tab 8.9. The 16GB version will be $469, Samsung has confirmed, while the 32GB version will be $569. Both will use the same 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor and have dual-cameras, a 3-megapixel unit on the back and a 2-megapixel version upfront.

If you like Android tablets Samsung has had some of the more popular offerings with the Galaxy Tab line of tablets. There are the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the Tab 10.1 on the market right now. Samsung is set to offer a screen size that slots between those two called the Galaxy Tab 8.9. Chris Davies got hands on with the new Tab 8.9 sporting LTE not long ago, the LTE version gets a 1.5GHz CPU. As of today, Laptoping reports that the WiFi only version of the Tab 8.9 is now up for pre-order at Best Buy.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 LTE hands-on & speedtested
Vodafone Germany has quietly brought along a Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 packing LTE and an upgraded processor to IFA 2011 this week, adding 4G connectivity to the 8.9-inch Honeycomb slate. Rather than the 1GHz chip originally found in the Galaxy Tab 8.9, this German model has an unspecified 1.5GHz CPU according to the spec sheet, along with a Super AMOLED display.
