Welcome to the weekend, everyone! We're about ready to dive into the weekend ourselves, but not before we deliver the evening wrap-up. As with every other day this week, today gave us some more news about Apple's patent trial with Samsung, with Judge Lucy Koh interviewing each and every one of the jurors to make sure they weren't being swayed by any outside influences. Apple's senior VP of worldwide marketing Phil Schiller took the stand today to convince the jury that the iPhone's design was unique, while the company's legal counsel did its best to make sure that Samsung didn't share any iPhone sales numbers. Judge Koh also said that Apple wasn't allowed to keep its customer survey results a secret, so Samsung did get a bit of news that could help it out as the trial progresses.

It's going to be a rather fun weekend for those of you that own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus as the manufacturer has officially started sending out the Android software update to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This update will bring the wi-fi versions of the tablets an upgrade to additional functionality that includes notifications menu features, Face Unlock, and a massive set of bug fixes as well. User will be able to grab this update via Samsung KIES software on their home PC.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0N Plus revealed

There's a brand new Galaxy Tab in town, this one created in Germany with a new form factor that does a bit of sidestepping like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1N did late last year. Regardless of this, it does have the long awaited (by me) forward-facing speaker upgrade, this being the biggest change between it and its 7.0 non-N edition. Inside you'll be getting Android 3.2 Honeycomb right out of the box with Ice Cream Sandwich update in the pipeline.

Samsung details ICS upgrades: GSII and Note in Q1 2012

Samsung has officially confirmed the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade schedule for its current line-up of smartphones and tablets, promising that the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Note will see Android 4.0 in Q1 2012. Eight devices are listed as in line for upgrades, including the Galaxy S II LTE and Galaxy R smartphones and the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. Specific timescales for each model - as well as carrier variants - will follow.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus has surfaced at the FCC today with HSPA+ bands in tow that suggest it may soon be heading to AT&T. The WiFi-only version of the slick 7-inch tablet has already begun shipping here in the US from major retailers such as Best Buy and Amazon starting at $399. But if having a cellular connection for your Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is important, you likely won't have to wait long.

Samsung Android 4.0 ICS updates in 2012 reportedly detailed

Samsung Italy has reportedly confirmed which of the Korean company's Android devices will receive an Ice Cream Sandwich update, with models such as the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy Tab 10.1 each supposedly in line for a 4.0 upgrade. The Italian arm of the firm listed the GSII and the Tab 10.1, HDBlog claims, along with the Galaxy Note, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Tab 7.7 and Tab 7.0 Plus as all being eligible for a tasty frozen treat. However, don't expect it any time soon.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus officially announced for US availability

If you didn't believe it before, you sure will now, as Samsung has officially announced their intent to have the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus made available in the USA starting November 13th for $399.99 USD. This tablet is one of a rather large family of tablet-sized devices put out by Samsung in recent months, this one replacing the original Samsung Galaxy Tab as the company's 7-inch tablet hero. This device will be available through Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct, Fry’s, and other "fine retailers" come November and will feature an app by the name of "Peel" which works as a smart remote TV application for all your entertainment purposes - tap away!
