Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 To Be Thicker Than iPad 2 Due To Supply Shortage?

Although Samsung and Apple are business partners when it comes to Apple's components, their recent legal battle has only fueled the already fierce competition in smartphones and tablets. When Apple first unveiled their slimmed down iPad 2 that measured only 8.8mm thin, Samsung went back to the drawing board and cut down their Galaxy Tab 10.1 to only 8.6mm thin. But now there are reports that due to some components supply shortages may force Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 to end up being thicker than the iPad 2.

Samsung commercial pokes fun at iPad 2′s lack of Flash

Here we go again. It seems like most of the tablet makers on the market today think that they can toss a tablet out that is similar to the iPad on a different OS and just sell droves of the things because the tablet supports Flash. I think that the gigantic lead the iPad 2 has in the tablet market should show other makers that they need more than Flash support to beat Apple in the tablet game. If they offered a tablet for a lot less money than the iPad 2 with similar specs and Flash support, then they get my attention.

Galaxy Tab 8.9/10.1 Euro launch now August after Honeycomb hiccups

Yesterday I mentioned that the launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was set for June 16 in the US. Pre-orders for that tablet will start on June 8. Apple wins early access to Samsung phones/tablets in copycat case

Samsung must hand over samples from its current and incoming smartphone and tablet range, along with marketing materials, to Apple's legal team as part of an "expedited discovery" process to see whether allegations of design similarity are accurate. That's the ruling of San Jose Federal Judge Lucy Koh, Courthouse News reports, who brought forward access to the Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Infuse 4G and DROID Charge after Apple "produced images of Samsung products and other evidence that provide a reasonable basis for Apple's belief that Samsung's new products are designed to mimic Apple's products."
