Samsung Galaxy S4 case leak rumor tips crisper phone

Samsung's Galaxy S4 is believed to be less than a month away, and the rumor mill has thrown up a set of new third-party cases that supposedly give a clue as to the hotly-anticipated smartphone's form-factor. The shots, leaked to UK retailer MobileFun by a "trusted" accessory manufacturer in China, hint at a device that returns to the crisper, more squared-off aesthetic of the Galaxy S II, rather than the "pebble" design of the current Galaxy S III.

iPhone 5 grabs Q4 2012 top spot as GS3 drops to third place says research

Apple's iPhone 5 took the smartphone top spot in worldwide sales in Q4 2012, according to new figures, and together with the iPhone 4S pushing the Samsung Galaxy S III into third place. In fact, 1-in-5 smartphones shipped worldwide in the last quarter of 2012 were either iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S models, Strategy Analytics claims, crediting healthy subsidies, broad availability, and the appeal of the latest Apple handset's larger screen for the improvement in demand. The results are a turnaround from Q3 2012, where Samsung's flagship ruled the roost.

Will 2013 be the year of the HTC One?

Will 2013 be the year of the HTC One?

All of a sudden, I'm excited about HTC again. After a dire 2012 and a dreary line-up the twelve months before that, the HTC One is a blast of fresh air and has a real "return to form" feel for the company. I was lucky enough to spend some extended time with the One ahead of today's launch, and came away impressed with HTC's attention to detail and concerned that it would struggle to communicate its message. Rather than follow the trend of more megapixels, HTC opted out and went for a photography system that, it claims, is far more relevant to how people actually use their smartphones.

Watch out Google: Samsung’s Galaxy brand has eclipsed Android

Watch out Google: Samsung’s Galaxy brand has eclipsed Android

It would appear that the Samsung brand push of the name "Galaxy" associated with their Android-toting smartphones and tablets is working so extremely well that this week the hardware name has become more popular than the software. Having a peek at the findings analyst Benedict Evans has found with a few search term trends in Google's own search engine, it's made clear that as the Android search term has risen, so has the term Galaxy. In November of 2012 it's shown that Galaxy was searched more than Android for the first time either term was relevant in search terms across Google's history.

Samsung 1080p smartphone tipped with Exynos 5

Today appeared to be quite the day for leaks, with the Samsung GT-B9150 coming in most recently with a powerful Exynos 5 processor under the hood and a 1080p display to its name. This device brings on the 1.7GHz A15-based Exynos 5 5250 Dual processor to the game, this being the same massive beast we've seen in the Google Nexus 10 and the Samsung Series 3 Chromebook. This device could be the Samsung Galaxy S IV or it could be a brand new Galaxy Note - at the moment the details are quite scarce and fried with salt, as it were.

It's time for Samsung to start with the teasers for the commercials for the Super Bowl this week with none other than "The Next Big Thing" campaign continuing on into 2013. This first teaser commercial for the final commercial (strange as that may seem) goes by the name "El Plato Supremo" and stars legal consultant Saul Goodman as well as comedic actors Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan.
