GALAXY S 4 Mini appears in official Samsung code

, Apr 17th 2013 Discuss [0]

This afternoon the official Samsung webpage has turned up a code that Android addicted may very well be familiar with: one belonging to the Samsung GALAXY S 4 Mini. Like its predecessor, the GALAXY S 4 Mini will be a device that will hold its larger sibling's name, but will be offered at a much lower price with far less impressive specifications. We must assume that this device is on the way soon, too, as such a code only appears rather close to a final reveal. Read The Full Story

Samsung GALAXY S 4 mini tipped on hero’s heels

, Mar 28th 2013 Discuss [0]

If you were pumped up about the Samsung GALAXY S 4 revealed earlier this month but found its massive display to be just a bit too much to swallow, you'll be glad to hear the tip about a "mini" coming on quick. This smaller iteration of the GALAXY S 4 would take on the design aesthetic of the larger, working with many of the same features but with specifications that point to a slightly lower price on the market. Mark one in the win column, folks. Apple has dropped Samsung's latest device, the Galaxy S III Mini, from its patent case against the Korean-based company. Apple agreed in a court filing to drop its infringement claims against the Galaxy S III Mini. Apple initially included the device because it was available for sale through Amazon.com, but Samsung argued that the device had not been officially released in the US, and therefore shouldn't be covered. SlashGear Evening Wrap-Up: November 1, 2012

, Nov 1st 2012 Discuss [0]

We've officially entered November, which means that 2013 is right around the corner - an alarming thought indeed. Today the folks at iFixit gave us an up close look at the internals of the iPad Mini, while Apple was told by a UK judge that it needs to change the Samsung "apology" on its website. Verizon is helping out with the Hurricane Sandy recovery effort, as is Apple by accepting donations through iTunes. We heard a whopper of a rumor that claims Google will soon introduce physical Google Wallet credit cards which, if true, could be a major game-changer. Read The Full Story

Samsung Galaxy S III Mini UK launch date unveiled

Several weeks ago Samsung announced that it would be launching a smaller version of its insanely popular Galaxy S III smartphone in Europe. The phone will be called the Galaxy S III Mini. The specifications for the device were rather disappointing to a lot of people including a four-inch Super AMOLED display and a resolution of only 800 x 480. Read The Full Story

SlashGear Evening Wrap-Up: October 11, 2012

, Oct 11th 2012 Discuss [0]

Welcome to Thursday evening, folks - just one more work day and the glorious weekend is here once again. This afternoon we heard that both the iPad Mini and the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro - neither of which officially exist yet, remember - have been delayed due to problems with component yields, but not long after, analysts were saying that the MacBook Pro with Retina Display is still on track to launch this year. Apple has managed to delay the ban of the iPhone and iPad in South Korea, and we learned that the company's new dock connector is nearly impossible to mod in a new teardown. Read The Full Story

Samsung just dropped the mobile ball

, Oct 11th 2012 Discuss [0]

I was wrong. If you’ve been following along with the strategy Samsung has been working with over the past year, you’ve noticed that they’ve been doing rather well the Samsung Galaxy S III as a single hero smartphone across the globe with no design compromises. They’ve just thrown that all away with the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini. In a move that very well could have expanded the power of the Galaxy S III with a little cousin in the Mini, Samsung instead opted to tear off the skin and the nametag from the larger device and place it on a disappointingly low-level afterthought in this newer handset.

Samsung Galaxy S III Mini official (and officially disappointing)

, Oct 11th 2012 Discuss [0]

Samsung has officially revealed the Galaxy S III Mini, and our fears have been confirmed: while we hoped for a distillation of the Galaxy S III into a smaller chassis, the new phone has lost charm as well as bulk. Fronted by a 4-inch Super AMOLED display running at a measly WVGA 800 x 480 resolution, the Galaxy S III Mini runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on a 1GHz dual-core processor, with TouchWiz and Google Now.
