Samsung Galaxy S II Official Accessories Review

Samsung Galaxy S II Official Accessories Review

Samsung's Galaxy S II smartphone blew us away with its combination of dual-core performance, impressive Super AMOLED Plus display and super-slim dimensions, beating the HTC Sensation to the market. The company's official accessories haven't been so timely, however, but the Samsung Vehicle Dock Kit, HDTV Adapter, Desktop Dock and Battery Charger Stand are finally on the SlashGear test bench. They're joined by Case Mate's "Barely There" Tough Case, too. Check out our full review after the cut.

Report of Verizon Releasing Galaxy S II in July is Just a Rumor

Report of Verizon Releasing Galaxy S II in July is Just a Rumor

Reports that Verizon will be launching Samsung’s Galaxy S II next month are not correct. Apparently Verizon was originally quoted as saying the Galaxy S II will be released in July, when they later clarified their statement saying they actually meant the Samsung Galaxy Tab would appear in July. The carrier will still probably release the Galaxy S II, just at a later date. We have been looking forward to the US release ever since we got our hand on the European version back in April. We will just have to wait a little longer.

Samsung Galaxy S II 1080p 30Mbit/s video hack released

Remember the Samsung Galaxy S II hack we told you about yesterday that allowed for 1080p 24Mbit/s video recording on the Android smartphone? As we hoped, it's spawned a new package for GSII owners wanting to boost video quality, with original dev hyperX working with xda-developers' Potatoman (who had already released an audio quality tweak for the phone) on a way to persuade the Samsung to record up to 30Mbit/s Super Fine 1080p HD at 30fps with 48Khz/192kbps audio.

Samsung Galaxy S II gets 1080p 24 Mbit/s recording hack [Updated]

Samsung's Galaxy S II has been coaxed into recording higher-quality video than the 1080p Full HD it supports out of the box, with a modder better known for his work on Symbian cameras turning his attention to the Android smartphone. hyperX added continuous auto-focus and 720p 30fps recording to the Nokia N8 back in 2010, but has now persuaded the GSII's 8-megapixel camera to record 24 Mbit/s 1080p at 30fps complete with 44.1khz 192-bit audio.

We already know all there is to know about the currently available version of the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone. We really like the device and we reviewed the S II back in April here on SlashGear. Some pics of a Galaxy S II smartphone with a new model number have now surfaced online leading us to wonder exactly what is different about the Galaxy S II I9101 in the photos here. Other than the model number of the phone, we know little about this new version.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 4G in 2011; Galaxy S III in 1H 2012

Samsung may be popping bottles over its 1m Galaxy S II sales success in South Korea, but that hasn't stopped the company's engineers from planning ahead. Mobile comms president J.K.
