Galaxy Note 3 SIM limitations surface for first pre-orders

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has appeared in its first box orders to retailers with a note that suggests not all models will work with all carriers. While this may seem obvious, there's a few limitations for the UK and European models that aren't usually in place for releases from Samsung or with the radios included in these models. What's noted by Clove today is that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 European SIM model SM-N9005 specifically will only work with SIM-cards issued from a mobile operator within Europe.

Both the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Gear have begun hitting pre-order status with carriers in the United States, T-Mobile jumping aboard for a run this Wednesday. While the folks at AT&T have made clear their intention on offering up early adopters a chance at tossing cash in at midnight tonight for the smartwatch, this beast of a smartphone will be appearing for pre-order from T-Mobile starting on September 18th - again, this Wednesday. We must assume that this also starts at midnight day-of.

Samsung already dominates the Android smartphone market; now, the new Galaxy Gear smartwatch wants to own your wrist. A companion to the new Galaxy Note 3 - and, initially, the Note 3 only - with a 1.63-inch, 320 x 320 Super AMOLED touchscreen, the Galaxy Gear squeezes a 1.9 megapixel autofocus camera with 720p HD video recording and macro mode, twin microphones with noise cancellation, and a speaker built into the adjustable clasp, into a chunky but solid watch form-factor. Samsung has revealed its new Galaxy Note 3, the third generation of pen-enabled "phablet", with more aggressive use of the S Pen stylus, an even larger display, and faster LTE connectivity. The new Note 3 now fits a 5.7-inch, Full HD Super AMOLED display into its frame, though actually comes in slimmer and lighter than its Note II predecessor, and runs Android 4.3 out of the box, with a 13-megapixel camera, up to 64GB of internal storage space, and 3GB of RAM. Samsung has also fitted in a bigger, 3,200 mAh battery. Read on for our first impressions.
