Supposing you've used the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 before, you know exactly what's possible with the most standard Android tablet size combined with Samsung's most advanced stylus technology. What that company would appear to be doing next is bringing on a tablet with a size 2.1-inches larger diagonally with the S Pen once again coming along for the ride in a machine (still code-named) Galaxy Note 12.2. This device has just appeared ready for approval at the FCC.

Samsung Galaxy fingerprint scanner up next: Note 3 nearly supplied

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 works with a variety of next-generation abilities, most of them based in its unique S Pen technology - one thing it doesn't have (but almost did) is a fingerprint scanner. Currently rolling out with the iPhone 5s with Touch ID and quite likely appearing on the HTC One Max, the fingerprint scanner entry point for smartphones appears to be rising as a "must have" feature for smartphones in general. According to an anonymous "industry official" speaking with the ETNews network in Korea, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 was initially supposed to be part of this first wave (first modern wave, that is,) of print-scanning smartphones.

Samsung HomeSync Android TV box appearing this month, Jelly Bean in tow

Appearing October 6th, the Samsung HomeSync device will be working with the Samsung Galaxy S 4, Galaxy Note 3, and a collection of other recent Samsung smartphone and tablet releases.

Galaxy Note 3 not the only one free of “benchmark shenanigans” accusations [UPDATE]

Galaxy Note 3 not the only one free of “benchmark shenanigans” accusations [UPDATE]

As the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 appears on US-shores we've seen talk of not quite on-the-level benchmark boosting by the likes of what, at first, would seem to be the manufacturer of the smartphone. This report originates with Ars Technica where they suggest that the smoking gun is the fact that this smartphone brings up four full-powered CPU cores whenever it's asked to open any one of several big-name benchmarking apps. What we've found is that this situation is not - by any means - limited to Samsung's hardware.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Review

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Review

In the Galaxy Note 3 you'll find the re-solidification of the idea that this device category was both invented by and continues to be piloted by Samsung. You wont find this company resting on its laurels when it comes to adding and refining both software features and hardware bits and pieces. This is easily the finest not-quite-tablet-sized smartphone on the market - but what does that mean in a market with little to no competition?
