Samsung expands ATIV brand in bid to keep product names simple

This week Samsung has made it clear that they want to keep their Windows device to all live under one roof, that being the "ATIV" branding already in place on a variety of products. In a bid to make it clear that they're going to keep software and hardware cohesive, Samsung reports they'll no longer be limiting the brand name to devices that "convert" from one form to another - ATIV will instead keep the Windows world in one friendly nest. Samsung releases ATIV Smart PC Pro with AT&T 4G and Series 9 laptop with HD display

Samsung has announced the ATIV Smart PC Pro 700T with AT&T 4G LTE support, providing users with mobile broadband connectivity on-the-go. In addition, the Korean company has also added to its Series 9 Premium Ultrabook line with a tablet/laptop hybrid running Windows 8, with a higher-resolution, sharper display that other models. This afternoon we’ve gotten our hands on the Samsung ATIV Odyssey for the first time off the showroom floor, and this Windows Phone 8 combination with Samsung hardware prowess is looking like a winner right out of the box. This machine is going to be available to you starting today from Verizon complete with 4G LTE and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.5GHz processor under a lovely 4-inch WVGA display. Will this new Samsung hero for the Windows Phone 8 universe be enough to take out the Nokia Lumia 822 and HTC Windows Phone 8X competition?

Samsung’s Ativ Tab Windows RT tablet will not be available in the US

Samsung's Windows RT Ativ Tab tablet will not be available in the US, Samsung's Mike Abary told the folks over at CNET. The reason? Samsung's retail partners reportedly indicated that demand for Windows RT tablets is low, and that the burden of educating consumers on Windows RT is too high. Back during IFA 2012, Samsung revealed its very first Windows Phone 8 device, the ATIV S. The handset will have the familiar Samsung design that you already know and love, but will come running with Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 operating system. AT&T’s Samsung ATIV Smart PC drops November 9 for $800

AT&T has priced up Samsung's ATIV Smart PC running Windows 8, and the docking tablet doesn't come cheap: $799.99. The 11.6-inch tablet will come with 64GB of internal storage and a dual-core 1.5GHz Intel Atom processor when it drops on November 9, and run Windows 8 as standard with the option of a Windows 8 Pro upgrade. Samsung Windows 8 pre-orders start with wave of new-age PCs and tablets

Samsung’s Windows 8 range was a surprise addition to the IFA 2012 line-up, kicking off with the ATIV smart PC. A hybrid tablet/notebook following in ASUS’ Transformer footsteps by pairing a slate “brains” section with a detachable keyboard dock, the ATIV Smart PC runs Windows 8 and impressively promises up to 13.5hrs of battery life. We grabbed some hands-on time.
