The chrome version of the mic and the gold one are the same as far as features go. The limited edition gold version of the mic sets itself apart for the standard chrome offering with its 22K gold plated body that is jewelry grade and it comes in a mahogany wood case. Other features of the limited edition mic include a special gold braided USB cable.

Each of the limited edition Meteor mics is numbered and there are only 400 units being made and sold. The gold version of the mic will only be offered at Best Buy stores. Other than the color and limited edition nature both the gold and chrome mics share the same 25mm condenser element, stereo headphone output, and an all metal body with the cool folding legs for standing the mic upright. Pre-orders are underway for the limited edition mic now for $149.99 and the standard version is $99.99 with shipment on both set for April 15.

The mic works for Skype and voice recognition software in addition to music and voice recording according to Samson. The Meteor Mic has a built-in stand that allows it to be positioned in several ways to best suit the recording environment. It also has a 1.8-inch headphone output for monitoring.

The mic comes with a soft carry bag and uses a single USB cable for connectivity and power. It will work with the iPad using a USB adapter. It has a 25mm diaphragm, cardioids pickup pattern, a frequency response of 20Hz to 20 kHz and supports CD quality sound recording. It will hit stores on April 15 for $99.

There’s also auto-gain control with two user-selectable settings, an integrated USB cable and a preloaded copy of HandyShare for editing footage together with adding effects like reverb and normalizing the audio levels.  Alternatively an HDMI output lets you plug the Q3HD straight into your TV.

The bundled 2GB SD card is good for up to 45 minutes of HD video, or you can swap it out for up to a 32GB SDHC for up to 7hrs recording.  The display is a 2.4-inch 320 x 240 panel.  No sign of pricing or availability.

It’s supposedly easier to use, too, with Zoom ousting menus in favor of dedicated buttons that control track markers, auto record, low cut filters, level and volume controls.  A 32GB card is good for 50hrs of audio, an AA battery is good for 10hrs recording, and there are USB, tripod mount, 1/8-inch external mic input and stereo 1/8-inch line outputs along with a reference speaker.  Expect it to hit shelves on July 30th, priced at $99, alongside a $24.99 H1 accessory kit including windscreen, AC adapter (USB type), USB cable, adjustable tripod stand, soft carrying pouch and mic clip adapter.

What can the Go Mic do? Well, it’s a USB microphone that clips directly to your laptop (or whatever else you need it to clip to). The gear includes the 40W XP40iw, which is the first Expedition model from Samson to include a wireless mic and a rechargeable battery. The wireless mic system can be used for playing music at parties and karaoke. The XP40iw has 40W of power and a 6-inch woofer.
