Windows 8 sales “slow” says Newegg

Windows 8 might be a completely new take on the Windows operating system, but it seems sales aren't doing as well as some may have hoped. Online electronics and computer parts retailer Newegg says that they were "prepared for an explosion" at launch, but sales have "been slow going" so far. However, the retailer says that sales of Windows 8 may start taking off starting in Q2 2013 most likely.

The video game industry might seem to be all well and good, with big releases of video games usually hitting it strong this time of year, but sales aren't doing so hot. According to research firm NPD Group Inc., US retail sales of video game software, hardware, and accessories dropped by 25% last month to $755.5 million from the same time last year.

Android boasts 41% share of Q3 global tablet shipments, sets record

Research by Strategy Analytics via its Tablet & Touchscreen Strategies service, more commonly known as TTS, shows that Android received a record 41-percent share of global tablet shipments in the third-quarter of 2012. Apple, while still boasting 57-percent of the global market share, experienced a statistically significant drop in sales. This shift was caused for multiple reasons, not the least of which is the recently-announced iPad mini.
