The rumors and leaks for Apple's next smartphone generation are indeed ramping up. Now we are being treated to a set of leaked images, including CAD diagrams and supposed manufacturing molds for at least one of the two rumored iPhone 6 variants, leading to presume that production will indeed commence soon.
Following the case leak that took place yesterday, an additional source has cropped up with information on the next iteration of the HTC One, the "M8". Reportedly, the upcoming handset will be released this March, the specific date though unknown, and will bring with it, among other things, a twin-sensor camera on the back.
Hewlett-Packard may or may not release two brand new smartphones by the end of 2013, reported The Information today by way of The Verge. That gives the computing company eight days to make rumors come true. The phones -- for which no leaked or officially sanctioned images exist to our knowledge -- are expected to be a 6-inch "phablet" and a 7-inch phablet.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has piqued fan interest and rumors once again with a characteristically vague but enticing mention of "big plans" for 2014. The mention came by way of an employee newsletter he sent to the entire Apple workforce. It was nestled near the end of a long list of accomplishments both from a product standpoint and from a corporate citizenship perspective.
In the beginning, the barge moored to Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay was thought to be a floating data center. Then it was supposed to be a floating high-end show room and party venue. Now we're hearing that the mysterious Google barge is actually a floating retail center. It could even headline Google Glass.

A photo and video of the yet-to-be-released Nokia Lumia 929 has been leaked by WPCentral forum member Falorin. The Windows Phone device appears scuffed and marked up, indicating Falorin has had it in his possession and been using it for some time now. The leak is a welcome sight for Lumia fans who were disappointed to find it did not appear as expected at Nokia World 2013 in Abu Dhabi last week.
A CNET reporter recently tracked down the meaning and nature of a barge moored to Treasure Island, a former Navy base in San Francisco Bay. The barge, which has been built up with shipping containers to resemble a floating, mostly windowless, four-story building, largely matches a Google patent for a floating data center filed in 2009. The investigative report corroborates widespread suspicions the secretive project realizes that patent.
The iPhone is rumored to come in three colors so far: white, black, and gold. But wait -- there seems to be another color making the rumor rounds. A grey, graphite, or gunmetal (whatever you want to call it) color for the iPhone 5S has leaked, pointing to the possibility of the new Apple phone getting four colors.
