After numerous rumors and leaks throughout August, Motorola finally announced and unveiled its new DROID RAZR lineup last month, which included the new DROID RAZR HD. However, they were a little shy on some details — mainly availability and pricing. However, Canadian wireless carrier Rogers just announced the device for use on their network, which means we may see the device jump over the border shortly.

The DROID RAZR HD comes packing with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core S4 processor, 1GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. It also comes with an 8MP rear camera that offers zero shutter lag and burst mode. The phone sports the signature Kevlar design of other RAZR devices, making the phone lighter and more durable, while keeping it thin.

What makes the device really stand out, though, is its HD display that it touts in its name. It’s a quite remarkable 4.7-inch AMOLED HD display that has a 1280×720 HD resolution. The device also packs in 4G LTE and runs off of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, but it’s expected to get a Jelly Bean update fairly soon.

Along with the DROID RAZR HD, we also might see its close brother, the DROID RAZR MAXX HD, hit Verizon around the same time. Obviously, we’re still not sure what the timeline is for an American launch of these devices, but in the meantime, check out our hands on of the DROID RAZR HD and the MAXX HD to get a better idea of the two phones.

The RAZR HD from Rogers is available today and pricing starts at $99.99 after a 3-year contract, or you can pay a full $599.99 for the device without a contract.

As for monthly price plans, for $62.35 a month you’ll receive 200 minutes, unlimited text messages, and 1GB of data. Dropping down to $52.35 will net you the same amount of calling time and messages, but with just 500MB of data instead.

Additionally, Rogers are offering customers the chance to win a limited edition version of the Lumia 900. If you pre-order, you’ll be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win a handset with the Batman logo engraved. Nokia did the same with the Lumia 800, producing fourty of those limited handsets and giving them away to select VIPs.

Up in Canada folks across the nation will be getting one whole heck of a lot faster with Rogers upgraded LTE speeds via a couple of fancy new pieces of hardware. First you’ll find the Sierra Wireless 4G LTE Rocket stick, then the mobile hotspot as well will keep you well on your toes in the very near future. These devices will be the first in the Canadian wilderness to be running on both 1700/2100MHz and the 2600MHz LTE spectrum bands.

Both the hotspot and the dongle being detailed here will upgrade Rogers up until now fastest speeds of 12 to 25 Mbps all the way up to 40 Mbps. That’s quite a jump for those of you out there only cruising at such a speed whist watching your streams of Terrance and Phillip all day long. These devices will also be amongst the first to be connecting to the 2600MHz band, a band that’s not been used by LTE devices thus far.

Both of these devices will be able to run on Rogers HSPA+ network as well, all of these coming in at right around $22.93 Canadian a month. You can get into this deal on a tablet plan for $7.93 Canadian a month, but exact details on the tablet plan have not yet been revealed in full. You’ll be busting out at speeds you never before thought possible in one way or another very soon! Get red with Rogers!
