Grand Theft Auto III has dropped into the Android Market and iOS App Store for smartphones and tablets, offering some high-octane gaming while you’re on the move. Priced at $4.99 in the US, and £3.21 for those in the UK, the Rockstar game offers HD graphics that have been updated for this 10 Year Anniversary release, along with support for select USB controllers in the Android version.

There’s also regular on-screen controls if you don’t have – or prefer not to use – an external controller, and they can be customized to suit your fingers and preferences. The game was revealed earlier this month, and currently runs on select devices:

Apple iOS Devices: iPad 1 & 2, iPhone 4 & 4S, iPod touch 4th Generation
Android Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x
Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive

Rockstar also says that Galaxy Nexus owners can expect to get a version of the game in the near future too. It’s not a small title, however – weighing in at 18MB on Android and a whopping 462MB on iOS – so best not to download over 3G.

Last we heard about Grand Theft Auto III for the mobile platform, it was back when the action figure special edition was announced, then when the NVIDIA Tegra 3 optimized news came out – now we’ve got a date and a price for the apps that’ll be blowing up your mobile devices soon. What we’re dealing with here is the 10th Anniversary Edition of GTA III, and the price for both Android and Apple’s iOS devices will be a cool $4.99 with a release date of December 15th – that’s next week! Get your guns out and start preparing to mow down some hookers, because it’s thieving time again!

What you’re going to be looking at here in the image above and the gallery below is a set of screens provided by RockStar Games showing off the Android version of the newest release of GTA III — that’s the hooker scene and the one with our hero wielding a bat. Below this paragraph and in the gallery below are two iOS screens as well, one with a couple of automobiles flying through the night, and another with our hero running past some trash bins with a shotgun. You’ll be suitably impressed in both cases, I’m sure.

What we’re hoping for here is not only a good experience on the iOS platform as is usually the case, but an above-average experience on out brand new quad-core Tegra 3 processor toting Transformer Prime tablet. NVIDIA has sent down the word that this game will be optimized for the Tegra 3 processor, so we’re sure we’ll be seeing some amazing gameplay, and with the device lineup shown for compatibility right out of the box, there’s something else you should all see clear as a bell:

Apple iOS Devices: iPad 1 & 2, iPhone 4 & 4S, iPod touch 4th Generation
Android Phones: HTC Rezound, LG Optimus 2x, Motorola Atrix 4G, Motorola Droid X2, Motorola Photon 4G, Samsung Galaxy R, T-Mobile G2x
Android Tablets: Acer Iconia, Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Dell Streak 7, LG Optimus Pad, Motorola Xoom, Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 and 10.1, Sony Tablet S, Toshiba Thrive

These devices, with the exception of the Apples and the HTC Rezound, all tote the NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor. This would normally mean that NVIDIA would be releasing the game on their Tegra Zone app store (connected to the Android Market, of course), and the game would be exclusive to Tegra processor holding devices, at least at first. Instead there is that strange addition of the HTC Rezound, which is a device running a Qualcomm processor.

So we’ll see when the time comes how many devices are ACTUALLY compatible with this game, if it’s just NVIDIA-laden machines or if any dual-core or higher can work with the game. Only your device will know for sure! High five until then!

You may remember back in the middle of October when it was announced that Grand Theft Auto 3 would be coming back for a 10th anniversary edition that’d work with both Android and iOS – now it appears that NVIDIA is getting in on the action with Rockstar, providing their next-gen Kal-El (aka Tegra 3) quad-core processor-toting Android tablet to the group so that they can optimize the game for ultimate supremacy. Word comes this week from Adam Rosenberg who this week had the opportunity to check the soon to be released game out on the unnamed Kal-El NVIDIA tablet, an iPad 2, and an iPhone 4S. With the Kal-El tablet came the biggest surprises, both in that the game was running not on the tablet itself but through its TV-out connection, and secondly that Android’s ability to work with USB controllers is programmed into the game so that an Xbox 360 controller works perfectly well!

Having found himself in the Rockstar offices for an early look at Grand Theft Auto 3′s 10th anniversary edition, Rosenberg first warns us that the game is still in beta mode and things like frame rates are “still being perfected.” On the other hand, he does note that, believe it or not, “it’s immediately clear that this is a much better looking version of the game than most people played on their PS2s.” Sound like the re-up you were looking for? Rockstar has taken many of the high-resolution assets from the game’s PC release (later than the original PS2 version) and planted them here in the newest edition of the game. Newly created textures in items like signs and vehicles are amped up and are all working with fully 3D-modeled engines.

Everything in the game appears much more precise and detailed if one were to compare directly to the original release from 10 years ago, and now with the Kal-El quad (or penta)-core architecture, you can bet that this game will be all the better on a mobile landscape. Of course if you want to remain stationary while blowing off heads and crashing cars in the virtual world, you can also, again, plug in an Xbox 360 controller as Rosenberg did at Rockstar, this feature exclusive to Android for the moment. As far as how well the game plays on the iOS devices, Rosenberg only reported that the game looks great on the A5 chip.

Finally, Rockstar noted that there’s a possibility for a future patch (after release) that would add PC-like graphics sliders to the game – this feature possible for Android “at least” at first. ALSO for those of you wondering, there is no video nor are there photos available yet – top secret!

Just this morning it was confirmed that Rockstar games would be producing the fifth in one of the most notorious game series of all time, Grand Theft Auto – now it’s time to let our hopes run wild. There are quite a few features in previous games that are what we’d call nearly unexplored avenues. Small bits of gameplay that would, if allowed to expand, would create a whole new playground for the future of GTA. Below are just five of these items that we’re hoping Rockstar will explore further for GTA:V.

First there’s the idea that Rockstar would bring back the idea of multiplayer missions with free roam. Inside Grand Theft Auto IV’s multiplayer mode, you were either able to play Free Roam where you drove around the city, shot people in the head, or a combination of the two, or game mode where missions where the main objective – and that’s what you aimed to do. What the game Red Dead Redemption, not on the GTA timeline but made by some of the same people, introduced was free roam multiplayer missions. If GTA:V introduced this as well as connection to internet-based team-ups, it’d be a whole new ball game.

Next there’s Animals. Again in the game Red Dear Redemption we see a feature that may well easily find its way into GTA:V. Wolves! And not just wolves, all sorts of wild animals. Imagine a city in the USA, (and we’re assuming this will be so due to the greenback nature of the V in the teaser image seen earlier today,) where a rival gang busts open the local zoo, letting rhinos and tigers and elephants smash through the landscape. Sound like a fun mission to you? Certainly would continue the legacy of GTA being hated by parents and would DEFINITELY spark the imagination of animal rights groups if they started having monkeys getting crunched by motorcycles.

Multiplayer Mini Games are always fun, having shown up in GTA:IV as pool, bowling, darts, and etc. Now what we want to play these sorts of games online – there could be a whole sub-environment of GTA games going on in the Rockstar community. Poker night!

Fourth, the stealing and keeping of cars. This game is called Grand Theft Auto, yes? How about some more missions including stealing specific cars, bringing them to a chop shop, then driving them in for some incognito missions. Would some ninja action be out of line in a game where there’s usually one whole heck of a lot of reckless abandon?

Finally, the ability to replay missions to get the best score possible. This appears very much to be the trend in several gaming sectors, notably the mobile gaming world, where missions are no longer just about finding your way through, but finding your way through with the best possible points and collection of items on your back. This idea has been around for quite a while for SOME games, but only in “The Ballad of Gay Tony” and “Chinatown Wars” has the ability been there for Grand Theft Auto. Rockstar, you’ve got the ability to make this the most re-playable game of all time, again!

What do you think, ladies and gentlemen, what would YOU like to see from GTA:V?

It’s been a while since the last new video game in the franchise surfaced. A few weeks back the GTA III title hit the iPhone and Android with an action figure in the bundle.

Rockstar Games is now teasing the next major installment in the franchise called Grand Theft Auto V. We have no real details on the game at this point and the big splash page for the game at Rockstar.com is simply the game logo and a teaser that says “Trailer 11.02.11.”

That is only a few weeks away and then we will get our first glimpse at what the story line will be and what era the game is set in. Fans of the franchise should be excited and we will keep an eye out for that trailer to launch.

While the Grand Theft Auto game franchise had been around for years before the 2001 release of GTA:III, it was that drive a car and shoot your neighbor installment of the game that really, really made the Rockstar Games-made shooter take off. And now, ten years later, we get to play it on our mobile devices. Grand Theft Auto III has been announced to be coming both to Apple’s iOS mobile operating system AND to a handful of Google’s Android devices as well, though on both platforms there will be device limits. ALSO there’s an action figure in the mix, just incase you want something you can set on your desk while you’re crashing into cop cars and punching prostitutes in the face.

Grand Theft Auto III basically started a whole new genre of games in which there’s an entire open world in front of you, just waiting for you to run it over with a stolen vehicle. Currently there is but one GTA game on the mobile platform, that being Chinatown Wars, but alas, it still has the top-down perspective that early GTA games had. We want more than that, of course! Thusly Rockstar games have said fine, then we’ll need some POWER to back those mobile machines up.

Specifically dual-core power, that is, with only the iPad 2 and the iPhone 4S working for iOS and the Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, LG Optimus 2X, Motorola Atrix, Samsung Galaxy S2, Acer Iconia Tab (100, 500, 501), Asus Eee Pad Transformer, Motorola Xoom, and Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 working with the game. This is only the first wave, of course, with many more high-powered Android devices to be added later on.

Then there’s this action figure too. You need that if you want to be cool. This action figure is a limited edition rendition of the main character of the Grand Theft Auto series, Claude, complete with two outfits, a load of weapons, and some interchangeable hands for multiple gestures. This action figure is fully poseable and will cost you $149.99, while the game for mobile has not yet been priced or dated.

Can’t wait!

If you’ve spent any time with Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption, then you know that the soundtrack is exceptional. The music manages to capture the mood of the game through its entirety. And if you’re someone who’s a fan of videogame soundtracks, and feel like the Red Dead Redemption needs to be yours, then you’ll be happy to know it’s available right now. One catch, though: you’ll have to dig out that old record player, because this is a vinyl release.

We know that most of you have ditched the record player for bigger, smaller things, but sometimes it’s a good thing to remember the old days. And, while this vinyl may not have the same look as most vinyl releases of yesteryear, we can certainly say it’s eye-catching. Rockstar calls it “blazing red,” and we’d say that’s a pretty safe name for the color.

The vinyl record is available right now, courtesy of the Rockstar Warehouse. And if you can’t wait to get your hands on it, you’ll have to drop $15 to make it yours. Of course, the album features all of the songs from the title, so there won’t be one track you’re missing. Hopefully.

Uh-oh. A lot of gamers are going to be unhappy about this. It seems Grand Theft Auto IV for the PC will be outfitted with DRM, specifically SecuROM, which recently made news just a bit ago when it was discovered it was included in the Spore title.

While companies have a right to protect their property from piracy, oftentimes these DRM measures cut into a buyer’s activities, restricting what they can and can’t do with a piece of software they bought.

This version of SecuROM won’t be quite as harsh as those initially included with Spore, which limited your installations to three times. Instead, in Grand Theft Auto IV, you will need to register your copy when installing it and the disc itself will need to be in the drive in order for you to play it. You can install it any number of times you’d like besides that. And though DRM is annoying, this is at least not as annoying.

GTA: Chinatown Wars for the DS will feature the look of GTA from the 1990′s and an isometric viewpoint. These are all characteristics that lend themselves well to the DS format, as does the map/minigame screen.

And though it is doubtful the Chinatown installment will feature as much graphic violence as the current console versions, it is likely to stick with the theme and free-for-all attitude. It will, at least, if Rockstar Games wants to keep the same player-base.

The controllers, which are both pink (and both pretty obnoxious if you’re not a teenage girl) are expected to be released in mid-October. One of the guitars is heart shaped, and the other looks like the traditional Guitar Hero guitar, except with pink branding on it.

Both guitar controllers are compatible with both Rock Band and Guitar Hero and will cost you around $70 each once they make it to store shelves. Aly and AJ not for you? What rock bands would you like to see put out their own controllers?

Grand Theft Auto IV was easily one of the biggest titles to get released on both the Xbox 360 and PS3 this year. Since its release people have been wondering when (yes when, not if) the game would be released for the PC. In a (not so) shocking move, Rockstar has announced the release of the title for the PC.

Those looking to play the latest GTA with a keyboard and mouse will be able to do so starting on November 18th (November 21st in Europe). Naturally getting it out in November makes it perfect for the holiday season.

Of course we’re all wondering just what little extras we can look forward to in the PC release. Perhaps another Hot Coffee incident? I seriously doubt it.

There’s no doubt that Grand Theft Auto IV is an awesome game. But unfortunately when you leave the house, there’s just no good way to take the fun with you. Now if only there were a portable GTA game that one could play on their DS. Well your wishes have come true, as Rockstar recently announced Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS.

This game isn’t a continuation of any current GTA title, but rather a full standalone storyline. You’ll “navigate their way through the streets as they uncover the truth behind an epic tale of crime and corruption within the Triad crime syndicate, delivering the unprecedented amount of depth that has become a true trademark of the franchise.”

The game will be hitting stores in both North America and Europe sometime this winter. I’ll be interested to see some screenshots from this one. To be honest I figured that any portable GTA game would come out on the PSP since it has a little more power, but I’m more than happy to go on a GTA-style rampage (on my DS) while sitting quietly in line at the DMV.

Hot Coffee. There was a time when that actually brought to mind a cup of Joe. However, since the whole incident with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, we rather think of the rediculous lawsuit involving a part of the game that isn’t actually playable without a good deal of work. So the final numbers from the suit are in, and you may be surprised at the number of people seeking damages.

Only 2,676 people have claimed damages from Take-Two in the case. Here I thought there were thousands and thousands of people affected by this horrible tragedy. Looks like most people either didn’t see the content, or just didn’t care. Heck, I’d be willing to bet that of the 2,676 people grabbing for cash, only a few hundred even saw the content.

I still fail to see what the issue was in the first place. I mean, this is Grand Theft Auto we’re talking about, not Barbie Princess Adventure Pals or something. If you bought a game clearly marked as being for “Mature” audiences, you shouldn’t be upset when something like sex comes up. This is exactly what’s wrong with this country, you can go around and rip people from their cars and beat them to death and it’s no big deal, yet somehow when sex comes up, people get all up in arms.

It’s not all that uncommon to see a CD that has music from or inspired by a particular movie. It is less common, however to see the same thing based on a video game. Then again most video games don’t have killer soundtracks. Of course that can’t be said about Grand Theft Auto IV, which is why Rockstar is announcing an album based on the game.

Liberty City Invasion: Music from and Inspired by Grand theft Auto IV is an original production from The Evil Genius DJ Green Lantern, which includes 8 tracks from the Liberty City Invasion show in the game, as well as eight new tracks which are inspired by the game.

This really isn’t my kind of music, but I think it’s awesome to see artists getting so involved with games like this. I mean, why should movies be the only things that get kick-ass soundtracks?

Anyone who has picked up the latest GTA might have seen the Statue of Happiness. Many have wondered if it wasn’t created to look like Hillary Clinton, which any gamer knows is no friend to gamers. Due to her effort against violent video games, that is unless you are perfectly content to play slightly less violent games. Which would be absolutely no one who has played GTA.

I find it a little more funny that the actual physical statue that Rockstar created doesn’t look anything like the one in GTA. I’m also guessing that it doesn’t say the same thing either since some think the one in the game might have something to do with Hillary as well. The actual physical one has “GTA IV MMVIII”, Scott happened to get the statue with his copy of GTA IV. He was kind enough to take a gander at it for me and said it was very different.

Which means if the statue were made to look like Hillary, they did it specifically for GTA IV. Scott and I debated a little over whether it does look like Hillary. I think the cheekbones, nose and the lines of the statues’ smile are very similar. I also think that the statue has that same slightly vacant look behind its eyes that Hillary also features. Some people just don’t connect with cameras well.

It can be rather easy at times to get turned around, especially when driving at reckless speeds. Rockstar was kind enough to include a large map inside your game case, but wouldn’t it be cool if you could check out the city Google Maps style?

IGN has teamed up with Google to bring us the Grand Theft Auto Big Map. This is essentially a map of Liberty City, which is powered by Google Maps. This will make finding things a little easier.

What’s really awesome about this map is that it includes markers for just about everything in the game. If you’re the first to discover a person, place or thing, you can submit it and have ti added to the map.

Apparently some game called Grand Theft Something-or-Other launched earlier this week. Since people are making such a big deal about it, I figure it’s my duty here at SlashGear to test it out and see what all of the fuss is. Luckily my copy showed up yesterday, so I don’t even need to leave my house, for days.

My copy came with a few extra goodies from Rockstar that I thought I’d show you. These aren’t the ones that came with the Special Edition of the game, but are very cool in their own respect. First, we have the Stature of Happiness. It bears a striking resemblance to something, but I just can’t seem to put my finger on it. I know it’s a major landmark in the game, but I think I’ve seen it somewhere else.

I also got a pack of stickers in the box. I’m not the kind of guy that normally likes stickers and all, but these are awesome. I’d spell out the references in a few of the stickers, but seriously, if you’re playing a game like this, you should already be laughing.

It’s difficult. It’s hard to think that so many are willing to download the games and are unwilling to support us with all the efforts we put into it.

I do agree with them wholeheartedly. I have noted that on one particular screenshot I saw the other day that the persons responsible for ripping the game did encourage people to actually purchase the title and support the developers. I can’t really say how many people will take their advice, but at least they were nice enough to say that. It’s really the least they could do, what with releasing the game for free to the world and all.

Remember that little tip I gave you yesterday about being able to download Grand Theft Auto IV? What was the one thing I told you not to do if you still chose to download and play it? That’s right, connect to Xbox Live. Apparently there are more than a few geniuses out there that have decided to rack up their achievements on Live.

I really have to wonder what these people are thinking. If anyone in the general public can see that you’re playing the game (and getting achievements), don’t you think the people over at Microsoft and Rockstar are going to notice.

While neither company has specifically stated that they will be taking action against such users, Microsoft is looking into the matter. Either way, I really wouldn’t be surprised if the usernames in the image above don’t end up getting a nice permanent ban soon. That’s no more than they deserve for being stupid.

Hey kids, want to get your copy of Grand Theft Auto IV early? How about for free? No, we’re not giving it away, however, apparently you can go out and find a download of it, because it has already been leaked online. This means you should go to your favorite tracker and download a copy for yourself, right? I’d really suggest against it, for several reasons.

First, I’m really not for pirating games. Sure, back in the day I had a few burnt CDs of games from my friends, but I’ve since learned the error of my youthful ways. Sure, I’m getting all preachy on you, but you know these guys have busted their ass to make this game as awesome as it is. Even if you do decide to go off and download it, I’d highly suggest purchasing the game once it comes out. Otherwise you’re going to miss out on a lot.

One thing to remember is that Microsoft is going to be on the lookout for pirated versions of this game. So go ahead and leave your 360 connected to Live, and there’s a good chance you’re going to get your account banned for good. Man, why do I suddenly think I sound like my Dad. Next thing you know I’m going to be telling you to eat your vegetables too.

Oh, and one last good reason why not to download this. Chances are, it’s not going to work on your system anyway. You’ll need a 360 that plays PAL compatible games. Man, I bet some of you were getting pretty excited right up until that part. Ah well, I have to have my fun now and then.

I thought I’d remind you that there’s a new game coming out later this month. It’s called Grand Theft Auto IV. Honestly, I don’t think I know anyone that’s even heard of the first games, so it should be a fairly quiet launch. They’re going above and beyond though, even going so far as creating a so-called “Social Club” for it and some of their other games.

I’m sure you probably remember me mentioning the Rockstar Social Club back when it was announced, however, I thought I’d remind you that pre-registration is officially open.

There’s not a whole lot going on just yet, but they do have something called ZiT. You can call a number in-game when you hear a song you like, and it will be tagged to your Social Club account. From there you can purchase the MP3. Lets hope they keep the features coming.

We’ve heard that Australia won’t be getting the exact same version of Grand Theft Auto IV as the rest of the world. It is unfortunate, and Rockstar has spoken up about why they decided to create the special edition for the Land Down Under.

As we all guessed, it all boils down to the lack of an 18+ game rating in Australia. Honestly, I can’t see why they wouldn’t make a game rating especially for the adults, as there are going to be games like this that are designed for adults that will have to be censored, or may not make it there at all due to the content.

Thankfully Rockstar is assuring us that the changes “are not significant and we do not believe they take away from the level of scope and detail that make GTA IV such an incredible experience.” However, they have yet to comment on exactly what has been changed.

We all know that GTA: IV is going to kick major ass, but one retailer has already declared it their best-selling title on the PS3, and it hasn’t even hit shelves!

So far we know that Gamestation has stopped taking pre-orders for fear of a low stock, and GAME has already started emailing customers stating that pre-orders made after April 6th may not be filled. Talk about madness.

According to this document that is supposedly from a game retailer the Rockstar Games’ upcoming All-Star is coming to a DS near you for some hardcore stylus action. I honestly have no idea what they are thinking bringing such a game to that handheld, but if Rockstar is at all involved in the port it should remain as epic as you remember the games.

The game is also coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3 on April 29th, a bit earlier than the DS version. They are also adding a new feature in the game making it possible to tag songs in-game for download from the Amazon music store when you are done playing.

The game will sync up with your Rockstar Online Social Club account and allow you to download the songs you’ve flagged. The sheet lists the DS release of this game as the fifteenth day of the sixth month of the two-thousand and eighth year, so, it’s a bit of a wait, until then I’d recommend grabbing it for your PS3 or Xbox 360 at the end of next month.

Do you enjoy keeping track of your gaming stats online, rather than logging into your console just to see how you’re fairing against other players? I always find it much easier (and usually productive) to navigate my way around a website, rather than wander through various screens on a console title. Well if you’re like me, you’ll love the Rockstar Games Social Club.

On April 15th Rockstar will bring their new stat-tracking site online for all to enjoy. You’ll be able to register your Gamertag (I’m sure the same will go for PS3 users) and compare achievements and multiplayer stats with other players across the globe.

You will also be able to track a few other aspects of the game such as the LCPD Police Blotter which tracks criminal activity logged by millions of connected players. This essentially shows you where the most dangerous parts of the city are and other cool stats. If you’re the kind of person that loves to be the first to complete the game, you’ll love the 100% club. This keeps track of people who complete the game in its entirety. The first ten people to do so will receive a coveted (and very rare) key to the city.

A couple of weeks ago I told you about the issues many people were experiencing with Bully: Scholarship Edition for the Xbox 360. Rockstar claimed to have no knowledge of such bugs during testing and promised that they were working around the clock on a fix. Well they’ve been true to their word, and the patch they spoke of should be coming down the pipes soon.

The main issues experienced by 360 owners were random lockups and choppy framerates. According to Rockstar, they will be making a big announcement regarding the state of the patch sometime today.

Hopefully they will be announcing that the patch is available today. If not, I’d hold off on buying Bully: Scholarship Edition just a bit longer.

As the April launch of the highly-anticipated Grand Theft Auto IV grows steadily closer, more details are coming in. The latest bit of news is that the ESRB has finally given the game it’s official rating.

<img src="http://www.slashgear.com/gallery/data_files/1/4/6/GTA_IVM.jpg" title="Grand Theft Auto IV - Rated "M"" alt="Grand Theft Auto IV - Rated "M"" height="380" width="329" />

If you’re not 17, don’t bother trying to buy this game. That is unless you think that they’ll sell it to you, then who am I to stop you? The ESRB gave the game an official “M” rating citing “Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol, Blood, and Intense Violence.”

Some people had suspected that the board would be exceptionally harsh on the title after their dealings with both San Andreas and Manhunt 2. Thankfully that does not appear to be the cease.

Movie studios have to be careful when they pick a weekend to release a new movie in theaters. They mostly have to worry about a larger movie opening at the same time and drawing away a good portion of their sales. No one really worries about a different medium interfering with ticket sales. However, the sales expectations for Grand Theft Auto IV may have a negative impact on the release of Iron Man.

GTA IV is scheduled to be released on April 29, which is only a few days before Iron Man is slated to hit theaters. The problem here is that you’ve got a highly anticipated sequel to a major gaming franchise in one hand, and a big-budget movie based on a comic book in the other. Both are going to be targeting roughly the same demographic.

Honestly, I don’t think that the dates being so close together will prevent me from getting the best of both worlds. I’ll definitely be picking up GTA IV, and as a huge Marvel fan, I’m probably going to find myself in a theater the following weekend for Iron Man. What about you guys?

While things have certainly changed since the launch of the PS3, there is still one major complaint that people have about Sony’s flagship console. The fact that the PS3 doesn’t have an excessive amount of exclusive titles is brought up wherever fanboy arguments break out. For those of you sitting in the PS3 camp, you will likely be able to tell your 360-loving enemies that all future Grand Theft Auto titles will likely be exclusive to your favorite console.

While nothing has been completely confirmed, a RockStar employee has suggested that further gaming development will be exclusive to the PS3. You can find the quote in this month’s Play Magazine.

I really wouldn’t be surprised to hear that they decide to take the exclusive route. RockStar and Take Two aren’t in the best financial position, so a truckload of money from Sony for exclusive rights would be pretty hard to pass up.

You can now go to http://support.ea.com/rockband for any problems you are experiencing with any of the Rock Band hardware. Harmonix says they have fixed the issue in subsequent manufacturing runs of the guitar so you shouldn’t have to worry about it if you decided to wait to purchase.

They also said that they are looking into the issue with the GHIII Les Paul guitars and that they don’t have any answers for those looking for stand-alone guitars or drums for the game, but they are looking into all three. They also noted that they do read the forums on their sites and that they are constantly trying to give people the best possible answer/solution for any problems they may be having.

I am really excited about Rock Band, I have yet to be able to make it out to buy my own copy, its been busy around here, but I am patiently waiting till I get a spare moment. But for those of you who have already managed to purchase a copy, I am sure you’ve come up with a slight transportation problem when it comes to the drums, there are a lot of parts.

Well, the makers of Rock Band have your back once again, they have, for sale, a customized bag specially made to fit all the drum kit parts inside in an organized manner. Now all you need to do is get some decent sticks, a drum pad, and then work on your technique.

They also have an official Rock Band guitar bag. Really you’d be surprised to see everything they have for sale on the Rock Band website, there is almost enough real gear to start a real band.

In today’s crazy world its getting harder and harder to find a gaming system for the serial killer inside you. Rockstar games on the other hand have a contest to promote a game that will bring that serial killer in you out.

The best part, the prize is a blood-soaked Nintendo Wii with equally bloody controllers. They are motion sensitive too, so you can go ahead and start practicing your preferred stabbing motions now. The blood is actually just a really cool sticker kit, and I want one, both a Wii and the sticker kit, I’d take one of those sticker kits for my 360 for sure.

The company is also giving away a 50-inch plasma TV for you to play your new gory game system on. Manhunt 2 is coming out on Halloween (October 31st for those not in the know). I think El Dia De Los Muertos would have been more fitting since it’s the day of the dead.
