Apple, Google, and RIM involved in Kodak patent buyout

Earlier this morning, it was announced that Kodak sold off all of their digital imaging patents for a total of $525 million in order to help pay off chapter 11 bankruptcy bills. At the time, though, a list of companies who bought these patents off of Kodak wasn't disclosed, but now the list has been released, and it includes a total of 12 companies, including Apple, Google, and Research In Motion. BlackBerry 10 gets vote of confidence in UK (including 4G model)

BlackBerry 10 may not have convinced the analysts or the market yet, but RIM's new platform has at least secured itself some space on UK shelves, with the key operators confirming they'll be offering the first devices come 2013. EE - plus combined brands Orange and T-Mobile UK - have thrown their lot in with BlackBerry 10 (including confirming that there will be 4G support), as well as O2 and Vodafone, while Three has also confirmed it will have RIM's next-big-hope in its stores. Twitter for BlackBerry updates with Connect and Discover tabs

Even though BlackBerry 10 is just over a month away, Twitter is updating its BlackBerry app for users with soon-to-be older devices. The update includes the new "Connect" and "Discover" tabs, as well as some improvements on the navigation side of things. It's not every day you get to see a smartphone that's not meant to be on the market for weeks ahead of the showing, but that's exactly what we're seeing today courtesy of an intrepid leakster holding an L-Series BlackBerry 10 device clear as day. The video you're about to see has the device compared in relative detail to the Dev Alpha B smartphone that we've seen several times before and is compared to the iPhone 5 in a momentary glance - they may look similar with just a peek. A series of impressively clear and well taken images have surfaced showcasing the BlackBerry L-Series smartphone. The photos appeared on the Vietnamese website Tihn Te, a forum for technology enthusiasts. RIM has updated the Facebook for BlackBerry app to version 3.3, which includes a new look and a variety of new features. The changes are designed to improve the use of Facebook on BlackBerry devices while allowing users to more seamlessly blend the social network with BBM.
