Welcome to Wednesday evening everyone. This afternoon, what's supposedly the first full image of the rumored HTC M7 leaked out, though it's worth pointing out that what we're seeing is only a render and not an actual device. Facebook today announced free calling over WiFi or mobile data connections for iPhone, instantly making one of the biggest VOIP providers around. We heard a bit about the Galaxy Note III today, with rumors saying that it will come equipped with a 6.3-inch screen and Samsung's new Exynos 5 Octa CPU, while Apple and Amazon have been ordered to meet over their App Store case. RIM gets 1,600 companies to sign up for BlackBerry 10 training program

The good news just keeps on coming for RIM as we get ever closer to the company's BlackBerry 10 reveal at the end of the month. Just recently we heard that RIM enjoyed 15,000 app submissions for BlackBerry 10 in the span of just a couple days, and today, RIM revealed that it has signed up more that 1,600 companies for its BlackBerry 10 training program. This month we're ramping up to the big drop of BlackBerry 10, and along the way we're getting pumped up with leaked video after leaked photo, one after the other, today's offering being a full hands-on look at the smartphone known as the Z10. It's been a long road filled with delays and setbacks, but in just a couple short weeks, RIM will finally unveil BlackBerry 10 to the world. At its press event on January 30, RIM will officially launch the new mobile OS, which is seen by many as the company's best hope of coming back from the brink. BlackBerry 10 gets 15,000 app submissions in 36 hours

BlackBerry 10 is only a half-month away from launching, and RIM just recently hosted two Port-a-Thon events to encourage developers to submit their games and apps for BlackBerry 10, while offering $100 for any app approved to the store. RIM: Expect six BlackBerry 10 phones in 2013 but no carrier exclusives

RIM will offer at least six BlackBerry 10 devices in 2013, the company has revealed, targeting all elements of the price range, and will not follow Windows Phone in using carrier lock-ins to boost marketing spend. The first two devices - one all-touch, the other pairing a touchscreen and a keyboard - will launch on January 30, with high-, mid-, and low-price BlackBerry 10 phones coming over the course of the year, CMO Frank Boulben told FierceWireless. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile to offer BlackBerry 10 devices

RIM's BlackBerry 10 platform will feature on Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile USA, all three US carriers have confirmed, with each of the networks publicly stating that they will be offering smartphones running the new OS. Today Google settled its antitrust case with the FTC, avoiding fines in return for agreeing to license its standard-essential patents and removing advertising limits. The BlackBerry Z10 has leaked for Verizon and AT&T, while the ZTE P945 phablet has been revealed in leaked renders. A photo has been leaked today of the next-generation RIM-made BlackBerry 10 device by the name of BlackBerry Z10, a machine that's set to run an all-touch version of the mobile software coming out later this month. These handsets are said by the source to be in testing mode and that one is being carried by Verizon (scope the branding in the upper left) and the other is being carried by AT&T. While RIM is gearing up to launch BlackBerry 10 at the end of the month, the company is still hard at work launching other phones in the meantime. Case in point, the company officially announced the BlackBerry Curve 9315 on T-Mobile's network. New RIM patent filing puts “spy cam” pictures in its crosshairs

There are a lot of leaks in the tech and gadget worlds, and many of these leaks center around blurry images of upcoming products that were snapped quickly to avoid being caught. RIM is looking to prevent these "spy cam" shots with a new patent it has on file with the USPTO. This patent is for technology that prevents a smartphone camera from snapping a picture unless the phone has been held still for a predetermined amount of time. Read The Full Story
