Onkyo announces world’s first A/V Receivers with InstaPrevue and MHL support

The highly popular Home Theater rocking company Onkyo today has just announces the worlds first A/V Receivers that will have full capability for both Silicon Image's new InstaPrevue feature, as well as MHL (mobile high definition) support. Pioneer Elite VSX receivers pack AirPlay, DLNA streaming, more

Pioneer has revealed its latest batch of Elite receivers, throwing in Apple AirPlay support along with the company's own Air Jam collaborative playlist system, which allows multiple devices to contribute tracks to a single playlist. The Pioneer VSX-40, VSX-50, VSX-51, VSX-52 and VSX-53 offer seven channels of up to 110W each, have DLNA streaming media support (on all but the VSX-40), and support external zones for multi-room playback. Sony flagship ES Receivers and Blu-ray player debut

Sony has revealed its latest range of A/V receivers and Blu-ray players, with the new models having a custom integration focus.  The Sony STR-DA3600ES, STR-DA4600ES and STR-DA5600ES all support multi-room playback, with 7.1-channels, HDMI 1.4a inputs/outputs and 3D support, while the STR-DN2010 is set up for a single room.  Meanwhile there's also the Sony BDP-S1700ES, a Full HD 1080p Blu-ray player with 3D support, integrated WiFi b/g/n and upscaling. Onkyo TX-NR5008 and NR3008 flagship streaming receivers outed

Onkyo's latest pair of network-enabled A/V receivers have been outed, the TX-NR5008 and TX-NR3008, complete with eight HDMI 1.4a inputs, THX Ultra2 Plus certification, network audio streaming, multi-room and 3D support, and 1080p HD upscaling.  As well as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio support, the 9.2-channel Onkyo pair also work with Audyssey DSX or Dolby Pro Logic IIz, for boosted height or width channels.  Meanwhile there's Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, Slacker and other streaming radio, via the ethernet port, together with DLNA 1.5 for funnelling content within the home. Pioneer Elite SC-37,VSX-30, VSX-31, and VSX-32 AV receivers debut

Denon A/V Receivers outed: 5.1 and 7.1 surround, optional internet access

As well as Denon's pair of new "universal" Blu-ray players, the company also has a double-handful of A/V receivers to announce too.  The Denon AVR-991, AVR-891, AVR-791, AVR-591 and the AVR-391 are all "home theater" models and will begin to show up on shelves from May 2010, while there are two new 7.1-channel premium models, the AVR-1911 and AVR-1611, and three "CI-class" receivers for custom integrators, the AVR-4311CI, AVR-3311CI and AVR-2311CI.  All get HDMI v1.4a Repeater Inputs with 3D (supporting all mandated formats), an Audio Return Channel and CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) support, while some pack multi-room audio and HD audio from Dolby and DTS. Pioneer VSX-920-K, VSX-1020-K & VSX-1120-K 7.1 receivers get iPhone remote support

Pioneer certainly seem to love iPod touch/iPhone integration; their latest batch of A/V receivers are the third generation of models to include support for the touchscreen devices.  The Pioneer VSX-920-K, VSX-1020-K and VSX-1120-K each offer 7.1-channels of surround sound and can - via a USB hook-up - play back content from an attached Apple PMP; new to these models, however, is compatibility with the Pioneer's iControlAV App, that turns an iPhone or iPod touch into a touchscreen remote.  They also boast support for Bluetooth A2DP stereo audio streaming, to funnel music from any A2DP-compliant device.
