Chrysler recalls 900k cars over fire, stalling risks

General Motors has been the big focus of this year's automotive recalls, but it seems Chrysler is looking towards becoming runner up, with the auto maker issuing two global recalls that span nearly a million vehicles. The reasons revolve around different problems, with one posing a fire risk and another potentially causing a spontaneous alternator failure, which could also result in a fire or possibly a car crash. Fortunately, no known injuries have resulted from the issues, though there is one known crash that might have been caused by a faulty part.

With millions of vehicles, motorcycles included, recalled in the US alone every year, owners sometimes have a hard time trying to keep updated. In order to give owners the weapon of knowledge, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has introduced a new search tool on their SaferCar.gov website that makes checking such kind of information easier.

Mazda 6 sedans being recalled due to spider infestation, again

If you feel a sense of Deja vu, then don’t worry too much about it. The company is the same, the car model is the same and the problem is also the same. In 2011, Mazda recalled almost 52,000 Mazda 6 sedans because they were infested with yellow sac spiders. This year the number of cars to be recalled is 42,000 (US only); and this is despite Mazda putting covers on vent lines to keep the spiders at bay.
