The folks at Sony have revealed a lovely new tablet that you might feel like you recognize at IFA 2012 – the XPERIA Tablet S. Quite similar in shape to the Tablet S from last year, this device has a folded-over magazine shape, 1,280 x 800 IPS display, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This device is bringing in a lovely IR transmitter so you can use it as a universal remote, and it’ll have the awesome NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor under the hood as well.
It's time for the fabulous shape and style of the ASUS Transformer tablet line to work with Microsoft for Windows 8 glory with the ASUS Vivo Tab and Vivo Tab RT. This set of devices looks rather similar to the ASUS Transformer Prime, but with a bit of an updated set of specifications and Windows 8 or Windows RT under the hood. With the Vivo Tab we've got an 11.6-inch IPS display with 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution and an Intel Atom CPU inside. The Vivo Tab RT is just a bit smaller and makes the case with a Tegra 3 quad-core processor for mobile glory.

The folks at Qualcomm have announced that they'll be collaborating with LG to release their Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor to the market quite soon. This "global device" as they're calling it at the moment will bring a Adreno 320 GPU as well as support for "higher HD resolution displays". This bit of architecture will work with 4G LTE connectivity and will be popping up in September in Korea first and globally soon thereafter.

Last week we heard word that an improved version of the HTC One X was heading to T-Mobile USA, returning to the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 chip and pairing it with Jelly Bean. Now word comes from Stuff.tv that HTC is planning something similar with the international version of the device, with the updated model codenamed “Endeavour C2.” The HTC One X originally carried the Endeavour codename, with details of this new device suggesting it will be a small refresh of the popular handset.

This week NVIDIA and their Tegra mobile chipset line have joined up with Miracast for their wireless standard for HD movies and photos. This standard will allow users to stream high definition content from their quad-core tablet or phone (with Tegra 3 processors, of course) to their HDTV without the aid of an HDMI cable or a wireless network. Miracast is a standard in wireless high definition content pushing over small distances, essentially, and NVIDIA is ready to bring the Tegra line into the light!

A report from DDaily last week indicated that the Galaxy Note II would debut on August 30th in Berlin before the start of IFA 2012. Now benchmarks for the handset have appeared on GLBenchmark, showing that the device will run a quad-core Exynos processor as rumored. The clock speed looks to be 1.6Ghz, 200Mhz higher than the quad-core CPU found in the Galaxy S III. That falls nicely in line with the clock speeds between the Galaxy S II and original Galaxy Note.

Huawei announced a plethora of devices back at MWC 2012, one of which was the MediaPad 10 FHD tablet. Things have been pretty quiet regarding the tablet, but Yu Chengdong, Senior Vice President of Huawei, has taken to Weibo to give everyone an update on the specs and release date of the tablet. The tablet will make its debut in China in August, with the price expected to be less than 3,000 CNY (~$470).

The Raspberry Pi made quite a splash by offering a cheap way of computing to students or developings using a 700Mhz ARM11 processor. Now a Korean company has created a similar board utilizing a much more powerful quad-core Exynos processor from Samsung. The ODROID-X will clock the CPU at 1.4Ghz and come with 1GB of RAM, a Mali-400 GPU, six USB ports, an Ethernet port, an SD card slot, micro HDMI, and microphone/headphone jacks.
