Sony’s PlayStation Experience: here’s what you missed

Sony’s PlayStation Experience: here’s what you missed

Sony just finished its standalone PlayStation Experience media event in Las Vegas this weekend, and it unloaded a ton of teasers on gamers. Not all of them good, unfortunately. But if you weren't keeping tabs on the press conference, you need not fret as there is plenty of time to catch up before the games hit stores next year. As to what those games are, it's a wide collection of sequels to iconic titles like Street Fighter and Yakuza, as well as a bunch of new inventions from indie developers.

Street Fighter 5 trailer taps PS4/PC release

This morning a trailer was leaked for Street Fighter 5. This trailer was almost certainly set to be released in full this weekend, during the PlayStation Experience event series in Las Vegas, Nevada. Instead, we're seeing the bits and pieces of this next-generation release appear here, in super-short mode. Capcom continues to helm, and the game appears to mix some futuristic backing effects with previous-yen fighting animatics. This is also very likely an early look at the game, with final graphics not yet shown.

Xbox One won the Black Friday battle says research

Xbox One won the Black Friday battle says research

Microsoft's Xbox One may be lagging behind the PlayStation 4 when it comes to hitting sales milestones, but the console proved to be the winner when it came to Black Friday demand, with one analysis firm declaring it the clear leader in retail interest. InfoScout crunched the sales numbers on over 180,000 receipts from US shoppers on Friday, November 31, and found that more than half of all consoles bought were the Xbox One. However, while it was forced into second place, the PS4 still had a better year than in 2013.

Grand Theft Auto V Update fixes transfer issue for PS4

Grand Theft Auto V Update fixes transfer issue for PS4

In recent times some Grand Theft Auto V gamers on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have had trouble transferring over Online characters -- if they hadn't played since 2013, that is. Trying to play GTA Online with the Xbox 360 or PS3, then, resulted in a notice that Rockstar's service weren't available. Rockstar Games had responded to the concerns, saying that it was looking into the issue and would have more to say later on. That spawned a series of new updates today, ultimately leading to the now-available patch for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 consoles specifically.

Finally, GTA V gives you the best PS4 upgrade excuse

Finally, GTA V gives you the best PS4 upgrade excuse

If you've been sitting pretty with your PlayStation 3, insisting that there's nothing about the PlayStation 4 that could encourage you to upgrade, Grand Theft Auto V may have just spoiled that. The upcoming game is set to debut on PS4 and Xbox One later this month, and since all eyes are on what the console abilities of the next-gen hardware might be able to do, Rockstar Games has served up a side-by-side comparison of the differences. One thing is clear from looking at the same scenes on the PS3 and the PS4: your eyes are going to be a whole lot happier.

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Review

Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition Review

This release of Sleeping Dogs is the big-time re-up the game needed for the current generation of consoles: Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It still doesn’t look as fantastic as it does when you’re topped-out on a high-end PC, but Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition never looked better on a console. This game was fun and entertaining in an evolved old-school way when it was first released, and it’s all the more entertaining now.

Assassin’s Creed Unity bundles and Rogue Storyline trailer tapped

This morning we’re having a peek at several different angles on Assassin’s Creed Unity - product, storyline, and gameplay. While we got our Assassin’s Creed: Unity First-Impressions in on the 6th, one week ago, we’re having another look at the game from a final release schedule perspective today. It begins with bundles - two of them, both with the Xbox One. We can't help but wonder how long it'll be before the PlayStation 4 bundles arrive (if they exist, that is to say) - without camera, of course.

Alien: Isolation is just the first of the age of Terror Games

When I played Alien: Isolation for the first time, I got sick to my stomach. It was a physical necessity that I stop playing - and I hadn’t even seen the Alien itself yet. Now is the next age of the horror game. Not just horror for the gamer - not just a place where you can get out an tune out. Instead you’re trapped in a space station with the perfect organism, one that cannot be killed, one that’s never been so real to you as it is here and now, discovering you having a nervous breakdown in a staff locker.
