New PlayStation 3 “Superslim” ad tips Zombie 3D hardware update

A brand new PlayStation 3 updated hardware release has been advertised (after a reveal earlier this year) with just about as strange a 15-second commercial as you're ever going to see. This ad spot has the gaming console rotating in space with a couple of specification updates, first of all - no big deal. These days, we have a better idea of what the Wii U is packing under the hood. While there are some aspects of the Wii U that are clearly better than the Xbox 360 or PS3, the CPU isn't one of them. EA and Insomniac Games team for shooter Fuse

EA has announced that it has partnered with game developer Insomniac Games on a new four-person co-op action-adventure shooter called Fuse. This game was previously known as Overstrike. Is 2014 too late for the PlayStation 4?

Much has been made about Nintendo’s decision to launch a new Wii this year. The Wii U, which allows for gaming both on the television and the controller, is reportedly ready to hit store shelves in November, just in time for the busy holiday season.

Unfortunately for Nintendo, however, the discussion about the Wii U has been more likely to center not on the console’s features, but on its chances of being overshadowed by hardware from the likes of Microsoft and Sony.

Sony nasne delayed PS3 PVR ships August 30

Sony has confirmed its rearranged launch plans for the nasne networked media recorder, having been forced to postpone sales last month after hard-drive faults were discovered in the first batch. Sony Q1 2012: Income down 77% as gaming, mobile and TVs dive

Sony has revealed its latest financial results for Q1 2012, and the news is dire: operating income down 77.2-percent compared to last year, and losses of 24.6bn yen ($356m) for the three month period. A surprise boost in performance from Sony Mobile , brought in-house to the Mobile Products and Communications Division, saw overall sales reach $19.2bn, Sony says [pdf link], but the price of actually combining those teams disproportionally chewed through income. Sony sure is looking for a lot of attention for its newets Sackboy-featured PS3 game, LittleBigPlanet Karting. But it doesn't want to do its own creative production. The company is holding a contest where users are asked to design a t-shirt for the upcoming PAX Prime event in Seattle. Bethesda Skyrim 1.7 update detailed

Bethesda has revealed the details of its next major update to the game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which will be making its way to the PS3 and Xbox 360 but of course is already available on the PC through Valve's digital distribution Steam platform.
