Sony Online Entertainment has announced a new DLC available soon for the video game DC Universe Online. The DLC is called Home Turf and is the sixth downloadable content pack offered for the DC Universe Online video game. The DLC will be available in early 2013 for PC and PS3 players.
Last Christmas my son was bonkers for the Skylanders game. I played the game with him on more than a few occasions, and it was really cool. I particularly liked how you could take a little statue figurines of the characters, place them on this round device that plugs into the game console, and the statue would turn into the character on the screen to use in the game. The game turned out to be impressively popular, and the sequel to the original game is set to launch this weekend.
Activision has announced that its new video game 007 Legends is available to purchase. This is the latest video game in Activision's James Bond franchise, and the game sounds very cool. As the name implies, the game is based on five different classic Bond movies.
A brand new PlayStation 3 updated hardware release has been advertised (after a reveal earlier this year) with just about as strange a 15-second commercial as you're ever going to see. This ad spot has the gaming console rotating in space with a couple of specification updates, first of all - no big deal. Then there's a freak-out session with a zombie that bursts forth from the device and grabs directly at your face in 3D.
These days, we have a better idea of what the Wii U is packing under the hood. While there are some aspects of the Wii U that are clearly better than the Xbox 360 or PS3, the CPU isn't one of them. We don't know everything about the Wii U's CPU just yet (clock speed, for instance, is still a mystery), but we do know that it comes from IBM and features three Power PC cores.
EA has announced that it has partnered with game developer Insomniac Games on a new four-person co-op action-adventure shooter called Fuse. This game was previously known as Overstrike. The game allows four people to play at the same time as one of four elite covert agents bringing unique skills and special experimental weapons to the fight.
Much has been made about Nintendo’s decision to launch a new Wii this year. The Wii U, which allows for gaming both on the television and the controller, is reportedly ready to hit store shelves in November, just in time for the busy holiday season.
Unfortunately for Nintendo, however, the discussion about the Wii U has been more likely to center not on the console’s features, but on its chances of being overshadowed by hardware from the likes of Microsoft and Sony.
This week at Gamescon Sony is letting the big guns rip with a brand new trailer for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale, complete with several new character reveals. First you'll find Ratchet and Clank, then dropping in on you will be the ever-so-unpopular Spike from Ape Escape, a Devil May Cry favorite you might recognize as Dante, and none other than Sackboy from LittleBigPlanet. What a strange and wild journey this is about to be!
Sony has confirmed its rearranged launch plans for the nasne networked media recorder, having been forced to postpone sales last month after hard-drive faults were discovered in the first batch. The PS3-lookalike PVR will arrive in Japanese store shelves on August 30, alongside the similarly-delayed PS3 update and a new VAIO TV with nasne app for Sony laptops.
