Amazon Instant Video heads to PS3

The PS3 will be the first game console to offer video streaming from Amazon's Instant Video platform, including both on-demand pay-per-view titles as well as Amazon Prime Instant Video. The move is a huge benefit both to Sony and Amazon as each is competing in its own way to dominate the streaming video market - Sony as a platform and Amazon as a content provider. Sony teases upcoming PS3 video service

Sony has teased that it will launch a new online video service through the PS3, but details very much remain a mystery. There is a lot of speculation, ranging from ideas that it could be a service on par with the Xbox 360's partnerships with Verizon and Comcast, to the notion that it could simply be another video-on-demand platform like Vudu and the PSN's proprietary video store that doesn't necessarily bring a lot of new and exciting content to the platform. The prognostication on the next generation of consoles has begun. Like Federal elections, it probably began the minute the last generation hit the market. No sooner does the Playstation 3 hit the market than spectators start wondering about the PlayStation 4. Did they expect Sony or Microsoft to roll over and play dead? Well, in the case of Sega, this may have actually happened. But while I enjoy a good product rumor as much as the next tech junkie, I think that it is not only too early to start discussing the next generation of console, it might even be dangerous for us, the players.

Japanese RPG fans, rejoice. NIS America, known for its niche role-playing games, has announced a trio of new games heading for the North American market. Two of them are slated to launch in the US later this year, while the third is currently set for the first quarter of 2013. Battlefield 3 game update cripples PS3 users

A recently released update to the PS3 version of Battlefield 3 was supposed to offer a more enjoyable gaming experience. Instead, what some players are experiencing is random system crashes and glitches that are forcing them to perform hard resets of their console. Sony PlayMemories offers cloud-based media storage

The company is launching a new service called PlayMemories, which will give users 5 GB to store their favorite image and video files. Assassin’s Creed 3 teases with new video, artwork

The first official trailer for the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed 3 was released earlier this month and now publisher Ubisoft is teasing fans with a new weaponry video along with concept art and plenty of gorgeous screenshots from the game. Konami’s Silent Hill HD Collection not appreciated by original designer

The man who was the top dog in designing the original three Silent Hill games has been vocal at his disappointment with the recently released Silent Hill HD Collection. In other words, he thinks that Konami has ruined the masterpieces he helped create, even though the HD Collection is supposed to be a significantly improved version of all three titles. Sony’s Ratchet & Clank classics get ratcheted up to 1080p

Sony is set to launch a re-release version of its classic Ratchet & Clank games from the PS2, available in full 1080p HD support, or 720p 3D support for those with the equipment to take their game to the next dimension.
