Sony PS3 Motion Controller coming Spring 2010

Sony have come clean with some more details regarding its upcoming Motion Controller, while Joystiq managed to snap a shot of the movement-tracking peripheral at the company's Tokyo Game Show keynote.  According to Sony, the controller - which may well be renamed before launch next year - should meet the "stringent" demands of hardcore gamers, thanks to its combination of two motion sensors, three axes gyroscope and three axes accelerometer.

Netflix eyeing other consoles, Blu-ray players, HDTVs; iPhone in future

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has confirmed that the company does not see its movie streaming service as remaining exclusively locked to Microsoft's Xbox 360 console, and that one day they envisage access from every games console, Blu-ray player and internet-connected TV.  Speaking to Reuters this week, Hastings also suggested that an iPhone Netflix service was "likely to come over time", though the company's focus is not yet on mobile.

Spawn Labs HD-720: remote console gaming on your PC [Video]

Spawn Labs have announced their HD-720 remote gaming adapter, and from the sound of it they're trying to do to console games what Slingbox did for TV.  The HD-720 hooks up to your console - both Xbox 360 and PS3 are natively supported, with adapters for other versions - and then streams gameplay over WiFi to your PC.  While that might not seem much use if you're at home, it does mean you can keep up with your favorite game while on the road without having to lug your console along with you.

Sony Slim PlayStation 3 Could See 250GB Upgrade As Early As Next Month

Who's tired of official announcements? Well, we're not, but let's shake some things up with a bit of a leak, what do you say? Well, not so much a leak, as a rumor. A rumor from a mole. So you know just about how far you can take this: as long as your imagination goes. Either way, if the competition has anything to say about it, then a 250GB PS3 Slim doesn't seem all that impossible.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Makes Appearance on Amazon Germany

It's looking more and more like online retailers are letting the ball slip on these kinds of things; or maybe it's crafty marketing by the manufacturers, to get people enticed by early leaks and what not. We can't say for sure, and wouldn't that ruin the surprise? And let's face it, after days like today and the official price reduction of the current line of Xbox  360s, we need some more rumors and speculation. Thankfully, we've got Amazon Germany.

Sony PSP Go Torn Asunder and Inspected

Sony PSP Go Torn Asunder and Inspected

Tearing down gadgets isn't new. In fact, The PSP Go's bigger brethren just went through the same thing. There's plenty of reasons to do these things to new pieces of tech, but most of it revolves around finding out what makes them tick, and how much it cost to put it all together. In the case of the PSP Go, there's nothing really new to show off. And to be honest, we'd much prefer to have one not disassembled, rather than look at those standard guts within.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Gets More Rumors About Those Price Adjustments

Microsoft Xbox 360 Gets More Rumors About Those Price Adjustments

When announcements are imminent, or even weeks away, it gets to the point where every day seems to be filled with he-said she-said shenanigans, and no company is left out in this process. Especially the big ones. Microsoft happens to be one of those big ones, and considering the news from Sony this last week, everyone is (im)patiently waiting for the Xbox 360 to follow suit. And while many thought it was going to happen at GamesCon, it looked like Sony's announcement of the same material might have swayed that decision.

Sony PS3 Slim teardowns splay new console’s guts [Video]

With Sony's PS3 Slim showing up for sale all over, and word from the company themselves that retailers have been given the green light to begin swapping cash for consoles, it's only right and fair that the trusty teardown teams begin their dismantling.  Both iFixit and Rapid Repair have had their screwdrivers on standby in the run up to the new PS3 Slim's release, and along with the warning that a teardown "should not be used as disassembly instructions" have set to work stripping the console to its component parts.
